FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 / BIG Theora testing / BUG in players or Lib
I tested the new FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 and some players.
1. Biggest bug:

encodes into
http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/temp/push5tru.ogv
the problem: it doesn't play well. MPLAYER reacts very badly, reports
"invalid frames" and HANGS (known issue ???). But in VLC there is also
a problem, less severe:

Problem with some ogg players when using apache 2.0 as a proxy in front of icecast
Hello,
in order to be able to use the same stream name for different radios,
with only one IP available, and wish to use only port 80, I'm obliged to
use an apache2 server to split the request according to the virtual host
name.
Then, on the server, I have multiple instance of icecast running on
different port numbers (10010 10011, ...).
One virtual host config:

fallen too far behind, removing
Morning all, I set up IceCast several years ago on centos 6. seemed
easy, now I am trying to install it on Centos 7.
For the life of me, I cant do it, I have read several STEP by steps on
how to configure, but I am pounding my head against the wall, I am a
Windows IT guy, thus I am looking for a step by step detail way of doing
it. All the examples I find, fail at some point or another. Any

Metadata and bad player behaviour : cut sound for short time when receiving metadata (kh versions of ices/icecast)
Hello,
I was trying to add metadata to my OGG stream (ices 2,0-kh59, icecast
2.0-kh51).
It works... but the players are doing a small sound cut at metadata
reception :
- VLC (maybe 1/3sec cut)
- JORBIS (java. maybe 1/10sec, because I can have set higher priority to
sound processing and not to comment handling)
(player plateform: Mac OS X 1.3.6)
With VLC... I can say comments are unusable,

Player Problems
Hi Everyone,
Has anyone come across problems listening back to Mp3
streams using VLC?
The reason I ask is that we [ResonanceFM] stream at
128K and at 24K (using two different Icecast
instances). All players (Zinf, Winamp, Media Player
etc) can play both streams bar VLC which seems to
exhibt a skipping (i.e like the sound of a CD) problem
when playing the 24K stream. Incidently it plays the

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Two other players that I am aware of that have Icecast2 issues have been
VLC and CoreCodec BetaPlayer. I have been in contact with both developer
paths and set up test streams for them in an attempt to get this fixed.
CoreCodec is in the process of making the necessary changes. I do not know
about VLC. I was never able to get confirmation.

wav to flac corruption
I have exactly the same problem.
I encoded a BWF file to flac and then then decoded back to wav, using
--keep-foreign-metadata, and I ended up with a bit-perfect copy of the
original BWF. So I was fairly confident that the flac encoding is
working correctly, the problem definitely appears to be with the flac
players.
Unfortunately it seems that the majority of flac players cannot play

VLC? I assumed everyone used that anyway.

Without even worrying about your 24/96 issue, which OSX flac
player have you been using?
Here's what I've tried, and why it doesn't work well

linux media player as default media player for WINE
Hi,
First post, so please be nice ; )
I am trying to set my linux vlc as default media player for wine. I am
trying to do that because i use a software called TVAnts to tune tv
channels and I would like to skip one step of the process which is
starting vlc or any other media player and point it to the address of
the stream. something like:
$ vlc http://localhost:16900/1.asf

FLAC: how to dump seekpoints ?
Hello,
metaflac provides exporting CUEpoints, but not SEEKpoints.
As i understand, cuepoints represent gaps beetween tracks (inserting pause),
whereas seekpoints merely describe a list of seekable points.
Can cuepoint be used just as seekpoints (in the end, the
only thing which matters is that some classic media players
will recognize them).
In the script i have just posted before (joining

[Flac-users] Quicktime plug-in?
try this site first:
http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net/
I don't think they have flac yet, but they were the ones working on
vorbis for quicktime (and thus iTunes)... and someone started a speex
project there too. If someone would volunteer to add a flac component,
I'm sure it would happen. Check their user support forums... there has
been interest for a flac component. This is

This is were it gets a little complicated
jPlayer http://jplayer.org/latest/demos/ Where music is played from
the web site rather then from the client
At the creation of our web site we made a decision to only stream mp3's.
All music uploaded is converted to the mp3 format. We felt the
complexity would be less difficult
Rather the get into the multiplayer formats OGG, wav ect ect, we
