similar to: total_samples of Ogg Flac file

HI all, I have already added FLAC support to libsndfile and I am now working on adding support for OggFLAC. I have a couple of question about things that seem radically different between regular FLAC and OggFLAC. 1) FLAC has a function: FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_decode_position but there seems to be no corresponding function:

Nevermind, I have discovered the problem(not really a problem). I had called: set_metadata_ignore_all(); because I didnt actually need to use the metadata in my application. But it seems that with this option set, "total_samples" is not set correctly after calling init(). Upon further debugging, I discovered that the test "sample < total_samples" was what is failing in

I think there is another major issue for me: In METADATA_BLOCK_STREAMINFO the field for the length is only 36 bit, that's not even half an hour at 40 MHz sample rate, resulting in that the encoder sets it to 0 for longer captures. In the seekpoint the sample number is 64 bit, which is more than enough. But how does the decoder handle the seektable when the total number of samples is unknown?

When I was trying to find yesterday's xmms-plugin bug, i have noticed that seeking in stream without seek-table isn't very good.
