flac-1.3.1pre1
Hi all,
As people may have seen there's a pre-release here:
http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/flac/beta/
Specifically:
flac-1.3.1pre1.tar.xz : The source code
flac-1.3.1pre1-win.zip : Windows 32 and 64 bit binaries
Please test.
I'm particularly interested in hearing about the windows binaries
which were cross compiled from Linux to Windows. Unfortunately
there is a bug

amd64 issue with flac-1.1.3 beta2
Hi Josh,
I got a new computer yesterday, a 64bit intel core 2 duo. I am running
the amd64 port of Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy). I compiled flac-1.1.3 beta and had
trouble encoding:

the those logs look fine, maybe some other test failed like the

The change from sh to bash was made a little more than a year
ago. The mailing list thread accompanying this change can be

Patch : Fix cross-compiling from Linux to windows
Hi all,
The following patch fixes cross compiling from Linux to windows.
The existing code was doing:
#if !defined _MSC_VER && !defined __MINGW32__ && !defined __EMX__
#include <stdint.h> /* for SIZE_MAX in case limits.h didn't get it */
#endif
when it seems to make much more sense to just test for the presence
of <stdint.h> and do:
#ifdef

Check level not passed to tests
Hi all,
For testing a few mingw-builds I tried to use ./configure
--disable-thorough-testing (because testing in a virtual machine through
mingw isn't really fast) but it turned out this setting doesn't do
anything.
It turns out these configuration options aren't passed to the test
scripts at all. I do not fully understand how Makefiles or environment
variables work, but my

upcoming release, need help
checked in to CVS is what will be very close to the 1.2.1 release
of flac scheduled for monday. if anyone can try building it and
even better running the test suite, and reporting back any problems,
that will help me get things in better shape.

I reinstalled OS X, now FLAC 1.3 git won't compile.
Are there any dependencies that I need, but don't have? I've got doxygen,
libogg, automake, autoconf, libtool, valgrind, docbook, nasm, yasm,
libiconv.
the Autogen.sh script fails with:
"Updating build configuration files for FLAC, please wait....

[PATCH 0/5] update build system
This patch series modernizes various aspects of the autotools
based build system. There is a lot more that could and should be
done, but I tried to stay conservative for now and just resolve
some of the most obvious issues.
Max Horn (5):
configure: replace XIPH_C_FIND_ENDIAN by AC_C_BIGENDIAN
autogen.sh: replace this by a simple call to autoreconf

Running 'make fullcheck' fails for me like this:

$ make fullcheck

Tests fail
Hi all,
Its been a while since I last compiled FLAC from source, but I just
grabbed flac-1.1.3-beta2.tar.gz compiled it and then ran "make check"
which resulted in this:
===================
3 of 7 tests failed
===================
Is this OK?
Cheers,
Erik

restart - `exec'': Operation not supported
I played around with this some more and when I changed
line 142 of
/opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mongrel-0.3.13.4/bin/mongrel_rails
from "exec cmd" to "system cmd" Mongrel has
successfully restarted every time I''ve tried
("mongrel_rails restart").
Hell if I know why exec doesn''t work -- googling on
"exec Operation not supported ruby"

Can't compile flac source on Solaris 9.
I need some help trying to compile the FLAC source on Solaris 9.
It get's pretty far along and I receive the following error making test_seeking:
"Don't know how to make ../../src/libOggFLAC/libOggFLAC.la
When I try to make the libOggFLAC it fails trying to find ogg/ogg.h
which I can't seem to find anywhere in the source.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

How to get Centos to recognize a Motorola RAZR V3 as a USB device?
I have a mini-USB cable, but simply connecting a Motorola RAZR
to a Linux (Centos 6) PC to download stored pictures doesn't work,
at least not automatically.
Any idea what I need to do to get Centos to recognize that a
Motorola RAZR V3 is plugged in as a USB device?
(I don't have a data plan on this phone - I'm just trying to get
archived pictures off of it onto the computer.)
