I reinstalled OS X, now FLAC 1.3 git won't compile.
Are there any dependencies that I need, but don't have? I've got doxygen, libogg, automake, autoconf, libtool, valgrind, docbook, nasm, yasm, libiconv. the Autogen.sh script fails with: "Updating build configuration files for FLAC, please wait.... configure.ac:308: warning: macro 'AM_ICONV' not found in library configure.ac:309: warning: macro 'AM_LANGINFO_CODESET'

flac123 revival
Hello Dan Johnson, hello list, It's really weird that there's no working command line player for FLAC files. Dan Johnson created flac123 (licensed under the GPL) to fill that gap, and started the flac-tools project. Unfortunately, flac123 doesn't work anymore with the latest FLAC, and the flac-tools project has been idle for more than a year. I created a patch that makes flac123

[PATCH 0/5] Allow multiple targets to be disabled
Hi, This patchet allows a few targets to be disabled when unrequired. The rational is coming from VLC's contrib buildsystem, so far we use make -C to select only some subparts of the available targets. It would be easier and cleaner to use autoconf to do so IMHO. There's an additional patch which fixes the build when building for WinRT/UWP platform, upstreamed from VLC. We have a couple

wav to flac corruption
Thank you for the reply! I know that my system can play flac files, I've played others I've managed to convert using both of those programs. I'm only running into difficulty when it comes to these large WAV files. By "Does not work" I mean that they do not play, and instead I receive the errors I mentioned in my original post. I wasn't actually intending to use

Dovecot w/ MySQL support and CentOS
I am converting a Debian box running Postfix, Courier and MySQL to a CentOS box running Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. I have the Postfix with MySQL support taken care of with the RPM from the centosplus repo. It appears that the stock RPM for Dovecot comes with Postgres, but not MySQL support. It looks like I need to download the source RPM and then rebuild it with MySQL support. Could

wav to flac corruption
Hello, I'm attempting to convert fairly large WAV files (90 - 800 MB each) using flac but the files do not work after the encoding. (The play fine in wav format) Command I'm using: flac --verify -8 file.wav Attempting to run the file with either flac123 or the default player for Ubuntu (Movie Player?) results in the extremely terse messages: Default Player: "An Error Occurred:

alloca + configure.in
The following patch against current CVS uses autoconf to detect how to define alloca (used in vorbis-tools/oggenc/audio.c). The inclusion of <alloca.h> is done based on the definition of HAVE_ALLOCA_H rather than __sun. This change is necessary for compilation on IRIX. Thanks, Michael Index: configure.in =================================================================== RCS file:

0.9 problems
Problems in FLAC 0.9: - On alpha, flac immediately dumps core for both encoding and decoding (FreeBSD/alpha). - The distribution Makefile.in files haven't been generated with "automake --include-deps". The resulting Makefiles aren't fully portable; in particular they break with BSD make. In the future, care should be taken to use "--include-deps". - What is

build problems (autoconf/libtool)
Hi. I want to add some code to flac and am having trouble building it out of cvs. I've had several problems, most of which were pretty easy to work around or had already been discussed here. But this one has me stumped (though I am admittedly new to autoconf, automake, and libtool). Here's the problem. autoconf does not see any definition for AC_PROG_LIBTOOL. There is such a

0.99.1[12] IMAP problems with Apple Mail.app?
Is anyone else having trouble using the Apple OS X Mail.app with a Dovecot IMAP server? With 0.99.11 and 0.99.12 attempting to read certain messages using IMAP or IMAPS seems to put Mail.app into spinning pizza of death mode. Sniffing the connection, it looks like it happens after the client issues a BODY.PEEK[] and the server has responded with the (UID XXXX BODY[] {YYYY}...) and OK Fetch

Some questions and problems about setting up Icecast2
I've finally decided to take the plunge and set up an Icecast 2 server on my Linux 2.4.18 machine. After asking in #vorbis, I was told that I need ice2 and ices. From what I understand, ice2 is the Icecast2 server, while ices is a program that sends it data to push to its clients. Am I right? After downloading both modules, the first problem I've ran into is executing the
