Proposed change to code that handles output_prefix
On line 734 in src/flac/main.c, ver 1.77, change: strcat(outfilename, infilename); to strcat(outfilename, flac__file_get_basename(infilename)); I did this change because I was calling flac with an input filename with a path on the front of it, and I wanted the output file to go to a different location, such as this: flac --best --output-prefix /usr/share/flac /home/akehurst/tmp/my_file.wav

Q: WinAmp3 Plugin
I just installed WinAmp3 on my machine and then needed to install the WinAmp3 plugin for FLAC. Now, when I start WinAmp, it says it needs MSVCRTD.DLL This is the debug version of the MS Visual C library. Ok, now I tracked down a version of MSVCRTD.DLL (File Version 6.0.8797.0) and it prevents WinAmp from crashing but ... it still doesn't play the FLAC files. These FLAC files were

Winamp 3 plugin and flac 1.0.3
When I copy the winamp 3 plugin into the appropriate winamp folder, and start winamp, Winamp complains that it cannot find MSVCRTD.DLL Was the plugin mistakenly compiled as Debug and shipped that way? Any way for me to get the winamp3 plugin that isn't debug? I do not have MSVC++ to recompile it. -Justin

All, I have just finished uploading the source release for FLAC 1.0.4 beta to Sourceforge; there are no binary releases. See the included doc/html/news.html for the changes since 1.0.3; there are quite a few. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/flac/flac-1.0.4_beta-src.tar.gz?download Please beat up on this as much as possible in the next week or two and try and turn up bugs. Winamp3 Player Plugin error
The Winamp3 hit the streets yesterday, so i gave the FLAC Winamp3 plugin a shot (dragged cnv_flacpcm.wac to the Wacs/ directory, yadda yadda) and received the following error message when starting Winamp3: --- Studio.exe - Entry point Not Found The procedure entry point_chkesp could not be located in the dynamic link library MSVCRTD.dll. -- It's unable to play .flac files, but still plays

Winamp3 component update
Okay, I've done a bit of work on flacpcm.cpp and the Winamp3 component workspace. I updated the workspace & projects to use the SDK for build 488 (based on GenericWACTemplate). I also fleshed-out the MediaInfo callbacks, so that standard Vorbis comment fields are reported (author, album, genre, date/year, title, track, description), although id3 tag info takes precedence. So flac

Winamp3 plugin
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I've just downloaded the newest version of Winamp3, which comes with ogg support by default. Up until now, I was using winamp 2.78 with Peter's excelent plugin, and I really loved the tag editor. Sadly, the new plugin doesn't have this great tag editor. I was looking through Peter's website, but the only thing he had there was

WinAmp3 & Icecast2 compatibility?
Hello folks I'm having trouble playing ogg streams with WinAmp3. I run Icecast2 & Ices2 (both compiled from CVS about two weeks ago) on a Linux box, the files being streamed were encoded with oggenc (from oggutils1.0, managed 80kbitrate...) The problem is that WinAmp3 won't actually play the .ogg stream. When I give it the URL (http://myserver:8000/mount.ogg) it says

[Flac-users] Winamp3 plugin built in debug mode?
I just tried installing the flac plugin for Winamp 3, and Winamp reports that, "This application has failed to start because MSVCRTD.dll was not found." The fact that it's trying to link against MSVCRTD.dll rather than MSVCRT.dll suggests that the plugin was built in debug mode; most Windows installations won't have MSVCRTD.dll unless Visual Studio is installed. ,steven.

Hi, I have problems reading some mail with the latest version of dovecot. I use maildir etc but it all worked before... It seems like dovecot sends something that throws Evolution off the track since the actual information is sent, but in a broken form it seems. I also get some odd chars (this is raw tcp packet decoding): "??a-? "??c-?* FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen

solved: building icecast2 on OpenBSD
Icecast2 compiles on OpenBSD 3.2 with the steps outlined by Moritz (thanks for that). I'm running into problems streaming ogg files from the fileserve directory, although serving mp3 files from the same directory happens without a hitch...again, both work fine on a Debian system. I'll try building the ogg and vorbis libraries from source to see if that fixes anything (they are
