[viral@debian.org: Bug#107207: Small error in the manpage for flac.]
I received this bug report from a Debian user. The second of these should be
-M instead of -m. I've committed a fix to FLAC CVS.

Viral activitiy coming from an IP in your network.
Hi, my name is Grant Taylor. I am a subscriber to the LARTC mail list lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl. The LARTC mail lists has been plagued with viral email coming from changing IPs in your one of your subnets. Based on the fact that the WhoIs information below says that the subnet in question is a dial up pool this would explain the changing IPs. In less than 6 days the list has received 14 viral

Front End for OggEnc
I'm a little bit of a python programmer - I'm working on it. But, before I go and spend time writing a front end for OggEnc, is there already an existing one? Any URLs would be nice ;)

What we need to make it
Here's what we need for a BIG popularity boost:
Good interfaces!
Yeah yeah, i know, i'll be bitched at on how I should do it on my own, but
one thing that always ticked me about MP3 - the lack of tools that do the
job without the mess.
What we need now is - an ID tag editor. Menu-driven, that means CLI or GUI.
We need that, badly. Encoder - GUIs for X and MS Windows. Right now,

This weeks RCW has a slightly different format than before. After all,
since what we want is less bloat, this RCW is less verbose. Please do

ADMIN: Majordomo -> Listar
Hi,
I've switched the mailing list manager for the tinc
lists from Majordomo to Listar today, for the users
this change is fully transparent and for the list
owners it just means bounce messages are handled by
the system instead of by hand.
The only minor change is that you may need to adjust
your mail filters since the "Sender:" field now points

Guest account not working after upgrade
I recently upgraded samba from samba-2.2.1a-4 to samba-2.2.7-2.7.2 on Red
Hat 7.2 and a guest share stopped working.
The share is defined as:
[test]
comment = Test
path = /test
browseable = yes
guest ok = yes
guest account = intranet
writable = yes
It looks like with the new version samba has started accessing the file
system as user nobody, which doesn't work.

Dir-merge exclude filter ignored when rsync DEST ends in /.
Hi,
I encountered this behavor when switching my excludes
from global exclude filter rules to dir-merge rules.
If the spezified DEST directory has a trailing dot dir
the exclude filter rule "exclude /foobar"
inherited from dir-merge is ignored
and the file gets deleted.
But I'm not quite sure if this behavor is a bug or feature.
Test:
$ mkdir src
$ touch src/object
$ echo
