flac ogg quicktime iTunes
Hello, I'm going to start by asking something that has probably been asked before (although I didn't see it on the lists at sourceforge). Is anyone working on getting iTunes to work with flac? I'm bouncing around a few ideas and it seems like the logical approach would be to write a quicktime component using this project as a base http://qtcomponents.sourceforge.net I see a

Music-on-Hold radio input?
Is there a way to get Music-on-Hold to use the Line input of the soundcard instead of playing MP3s? Some potential clients like the music-on-hold to be the local radio station, or from a satellite broadcast. Thanks!

cue generation under linux and cdrdao
Greetings, I really love the one flac per cd idea. So, I pulled all my cds out of storage to re-encode them. I've run into a couple of general issues here: I've done some comparisons between eac under windows, and cdrdao under linux. It seems that after converting the cdrdao data to .wav, both programs result in perfectly identical .wav files for the 3 cds I tested. However,

Re: HTTP Streaming
Okay, this is similar to how the mp3 streaming was. The question is then, what is the MIME type for the playlist itself? For mp3s, it used to be audio/x-mpegurl?? Thanks, Matt >You need to create a playlist containing the URL of the Vorbis file. Then >the browser will just download the playlist and hand it off to your player. >Which player are you using? W2K3 Domain - Can't Connect to Share?
I have a linux box, Samba 3.0.23a, that is joined to a W2K3 domain. I cannot connect to the "MP3s" share (all legal!) on this system - I can connect to home directories and printers. When I try to connect to MP3s as any user on the domain, I get an Access is denied message, or it prompts me for the username and password again. I am using Winbind (if that matters), so none of these

Delete glitch?
Hey, everyone. I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on a Debian Linux 3.0 box and for some reason, when someone tries to delete something they can't, it does give them the access denied message the first time. When they try to do it again, no message appears and it seems to be deleted (it disappears from the list), but when they refresh the list, it appears again. My file system is as follows

Problems with gain
Hello. I have a problem here with replay gain. I use it to be able to hear all my music without any difference in volume. But it seems that all players I use ignore the gain value stored in my flac files. All flacs are louder than the gained mp3s I have. $ metaflac --show-tag=REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN <some>.flac REPLAYGAIN_ALBUM_GAIN=-9.96 dB $ metaflac --show-tag=REPLAYGAIN_TRACK_GAIN

Still having problems with my Samba configuration, even after upgrade to the latest FC5 samba package. Getting "Access Denied" errors when trying to connect with a member of the group "Domain Users" to the MP3s share. The W2K3 server shows that authentication was successful. ices and VBR mp3s?
I posted a while back about having trouble with ices 0.2.2 being able to re-encode VBR mp3s, and the response was that ices 0.2.2 did not reencode VBR mp3s. Are there any plans to include such support in future ices versions? If so, any ideas as to when such versions would become available? Thanks, -- "Shall life renew these bodies of a truth?
