List of Variables in Original Order
I am trying to Sweave the output of calculating correlations between one
variable and several others. I wanted to print a table where the
odd-numbered rows contain the variable names and the even-numbered rows
contain the correlations. So if VarA is correlated with all the variables in
mydata.df, then it would look like
var1 var2 var3
corr1 corr2 corr3
var4 var5

Testing for a second order factor using SEM package
Hi!
The following model specification works when testing for first order
factors, but when I attempt to test for a second order factor by adding the
last 4 lines in the model, I get the error message below:

Echo Can Tail Length
Hi,
I've been trying to understand the documentation on the Speex echo
canceller, and unless I'm confused, I think there's a mistake
somewhere. The documentation on http://speex.org/docs/manual/speex-manual/node7.html#SECTION00740000000000000000
says, " The recommended tail length is approximately the third of
the room reverberation time". However, the Octave script

Echo Cancellation Problem -- with sound sample
Hello all,
I am trying out the echo cancellation of Speex (1.2beta2) on Windows XP. I use the Windows Media API (i.e. waveInOpen, waveOutOpen etc) for playback and capture, but I cannot make echo cancellation works in my use case. Here is a description of what I tried: (the sound is in 8kHz and 16 bits per sample, the frame size is 240, tail_length is long enough to cover the far end to near end

Echo Cancellation Problem -- with sound sample
Thank you for you quick reply, Jean-Marc.
I have just used a human voice to replace the sine wave, but the result is like a broken voice after tens of seconds. Do you have some sample voice in .sw that I can test with? I want to have one set or a few sets of sample voice that work for my understanding and debugging.
This is the output from echo_diagnostic.m in my human voice test:

Adjustable parameters for VAD in preprocessor
*Sigh* Some day I'll learn to set the right sender address when posting to
membership-restricted mailing addresses. Was wondering why this hadn't
arrived. Reposted message as follows:
Hi,
Would a patch to change the constants on line 454 - 462 in the preprocessor
into variables be of general interest? At the moment, whether or not

Default delay time for Attended call
A call comes in from the PSTN, Asterisk answers it, it goes to the directory, and then to the extension the caller designates and the user at that extension answers. The user at the extension then wants to transfer the call to another extension; on the Cisco 7940 they push the ?more? soft key, then the ?Transfer? soft key, then enter the extension number they want to transfer to, and hit the

correlated binary data and overall probability
Dear All,
I try to simulate correlated binary data for a clinical research project.
Unfortunately, I do not come to grips with bindata().
Consider
corr<-data.frame(ID=as.factor(rep(c(1:10), each=5)),
task=as.factor(rep(c(1:5),10)))
[this format might be more appropriate:]
corr2<-data.frame(ID=as.factor(rep(c(1:10),5)),
tablet=as.factor(rep(c(1:5),each=10)))
Now, I want to

playing vorbis file stored in a buffer array
Hi,
I'm building an rtsp client/server that will support vorbis and I'm trying
to determine the best way to play the vorbis content as the array is
continuously being filled.
Currently, I can download an ogg file via rtsp and write it out to a FILE
and then play_file (from ogg123) it when it's done -- so the file is in
the correct format.
What would you recommend?

I don't realise if they are doing to the col, vector or what. if the results
are a vector or a value or a matrix :-(
Anyone with matlab, can run it and give me the result? Any ideias what am I
doing wrong?

Help with aggregate and cor
Hello,
I do not understand the correct way to approach the following problem
in R.
I have observations of pairs of variables, v1, o1, v2, o2, etc,
observed every 30 seconds. What I would like to do is compute the
correlation matrix, but not for all my data, just for, say 5 minutes
or 1 hour chunks.
In sql, what I would say is
select id, date_trunc('hour'::text, ts) as tshour,

Version: 65.1 , 0.90.1
OS: Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (193.62.250.209)
I reported this on r-help, but here is official bug report.
The present convolve() does not do convolution by default. Its default behaviour
is
correlation. This is a bug.
The default argument conj should be set to FALSE.
The zero-padding should be on the right for linear convolution (don't

fixing shuffle in ogg123
Hi,
There is a bug in the shuffle of ogg123 which was here at least until the
CVS version of 3 days ago. Here's our fix: (it seems to be not perfectly
equiprobable but at least fixes the old one which sometimes gives two
times the same song and never the other song)

patch to add device-option to ogg123 rc file
Below is a patch for vorbis-tools-1.0beta4 ogg123.
It adds support for using the rc file (like /etc/ogg123.rc) for
configuring the device-options. In addition, comments can be used (when
they start a line).
My ~/.ogg123rc:
default_device=oss
default_options=dsp:/dev/audio
