lme, corARMA and large data sets
I am currently trying to get a "lme" analyses running to correct for the non-independence of residuals (using e.g. corAR1, corARMA) for a larger data set (>10000 obs) for an independent (lgeodisE) and dependent variable (gendis). Previous attempts using SAS failed. In addition we were told by SAS that our data set was too large to be handled by this procedure anyway (!!). SAS script

How to calculate cumulative values for a simple Bernoulli's distribution?
Hi there, I have two questions and believe that there is an extremely easy solution. Being a beginner with R makes thinks a bit more complicated. This is the code: rpois(15,3) n<-15 DATA<-cbind(D,rpois(15,3)) data<-as.data.frame(DATA) colnames(data)<-c("D","X") *# 1. question: is it possible to put the following creation of x in a nicer form?*

Mac OS X crash bug?
Hi all, I want to check if this is a bug for which I should file a report. I am using R2.5.0 on OS X 10.4.9. When I invoke the data editor and when I change the values of individual cells, it seems to work as intended. However, when I try to delete/add a row/column, R.app crashes. I've attached the crash log. Best, -Nathan -------------- next part -------------- An embedded and

(no subject)
Greetings! I'm sure the solution is simple, but describing the problem is long. Here goes. I have a samba server on my network of mostly windows machines, and all works fine. The windows machines can read and write and create files and directories just fine. I have a Linux machine on the network and although it can mount and read the files on the Samba server, I can not write to it. When

mitools and plm packages
Hi all, I am trying to use the functions in the plm package with multiply imputed datasets. I had tried to combine the datasets using the imputationList() function of mitools. plm, however, requires a data argument, and I don't know where to point it to. I'd appreciate any help people might have. A (possible) fuller description of the problem and code is in a previous

Panel data and imputed datasets
Hi all, I am hardly an expert, so I expect that this code is not the easiest/ most efficient way of getting where I want. Any suggestions in that direction would also be helpful. I am working on panel analysis with five imputed datasets, generated by Amelia. To do panel analysis, it seemed that the plm package was the best, providing a convenient wrapper for fixed and random effects

mice package
Hi all, I am trying to run the mice package (for multiple imputation) on a data frame that is 5174 x 100. When I run mice(frame), I get the following response: Error in solve.default(t(xobs) %*% xobs) : Lapack routine dgesv: system is exactly singular and execution stops. I'm no expert at matrix algebra, so if someone could explain this to me and what I can do to get around it,

Error with dbcheck after upgrade to 4.10.2
Hai, What is the OS? Samba version you did upgrade from? I see you compiled samba, can you share the build parameters? And smb.conf with this might be handy. AD-DC or Member or other? If AD-DC, with or without bind9_DLZ Sorry, but more info is better.. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens Al >

Multivariate random forests in R - how to obtain variance explained for multiple responses in randomForestSRC package - or other package
Hello, I am wanting to use MRF to do multivariate regression. We are testing whether acoustic indices can predict structure (relative abundances) of vocalising avian community in UK and Ecuador. There are 26 acoustic indices, 65 UK species and 95 Ecuadorian species. I want to build a model for each ecozone (UK/ EC) using all species (relative abundance) as response matrix, and acoustic indices as

Mission statement for LKAP(Linux Kernel Auditing Project)
######################### kernel auditing project ########################### This is a mission statement for a project under way and ready to get going. The Linux kernel auditing project(LKAP). The purpose of this project is self-explanatory. It's an attempt to audit the linux kernel for any security vulnerabilities and/or holes and/or possible vulnerabilities and/or possible holes, and

Method of specifying tags in the puppetd.conf
Hi, From looking at the puppetd --help, there is not currently (at 0.22.4) a method of specifying tags in the puppetd.conf. I was hoping to use this for the following reason: Currently, I use ''noop = true'' in my puppetd.conf, and run ''puppetd --no-noop {tags}'' to install the configurations that I am happy with. This is because I''m currently

Urgently looking for Compiler / Toolchain Developers in Europe for world leading semiconductor company
Hi, I am working with a leading semiconductor company to help them recruit for several Compiler / Toolchain roles in their team in Austria. The roles are very urgent and although one engineer was offered a position in the team he was counter offered by his current employer. He has told me that a good idea would be to contact the LLVM Development mailing list to ask about posting these positions

Error with dbcheck after upgrade to 4.10.2
Hi Louis and others, While I cannot speak for the GP, I've had this same problem since I recently (finally!) upgraded to Samba 4.8 (4.8.11). In fact, the very reason I wanted to run dbcheck for was to confirm that Samba still works correctly after upgrading (it does seem to replicate normally, anyway).[1] I've configured Samba with the following switches: --enable-debug --enable-selftest

Facter ''operatingsystemrelease'' fact.
From looking at the Facter code, it looks like the ''operatingsystemrelease'' fact is currently a mirror of the ''kernelrelease'' fact. I''d like to implement this fact so that it returns the major version of the operating system, eg: Debian Sarge: operatingsystemrelease => 3.1 Debian Etch: operatingsystemrelease => 4.0 RHEL3 update 8:
