CentOS 4.0 compatible with Dell's OpenManage?
Hi, I'm looking into purchasing a few Dell Servers and installing it with CentOS 4.1. It comes with this software called the the Dell OpenManage Software Kit for PowerEdge that allows for remote monitoring of the servers. Has anyone out there successfully installed the OpenManage s/ware? Is it compatible with CentOS 4.1? Any opinions / feedback is welcome. Thanks. Best Regards, Andrew

id3v2 problem
Hi Josh, I found id3v2 didn't work on v1.1.0. I checked source codes, macros- (in such cases as FLAC_HAVE_ID3LIB) ware moved to config.h. That is good. But the place to do include is the after of #ifdef FLAC_HAVE_ID3LIB. The result of configure script isn't reflected. And it doesn't always have id3lib with this. Move place of 'include "config.h"' to the top. I

Formatting a large disk
I need to install Centos on a machine with 3tb raid disk. (3 ware raid card) Could someone in the list suggest a utility for partition this disk. I would like to have the whole disk in 1 partition and format it for ext3. The default partitioning utility doesn't do this. The OS sits on another SATA disk and each time during the installation it doesn't format the full disk which is 3TB.

1.5TB ext3 partitions - mke2fs problems at 2^31 blocks
I am trying to get a 9550SX to support a 1.5TB raid partition. I am unsure whether this is a driver problem, or an ext3 problem (as am getting some other wierdness detecting LUNs), but... fdisk recognizes the disk OK. I make a single extended partition with a single 1.5TB logical partition inside it. I then run mke2fs -j /dev/sdb It gets to writing inode tables, and wants to write 11176 block

FW: Partitioning help
Hi, I have Centos server 4.5 with 3.3TB raid disk on a 3 ware controller. Now the problem is that I am not able to see the partition in full since it shows only 1.2TB. I have created a partition with Parted and (GNU PARTED) and I have seen it is 3.3 T there. However I have to make this partition on ext3 with make2efs j /dev/sda1 and after the formatting it went to 1.2T. Could someone

open-vm-tools on CentOS 6
Hello all, As far as which VMWare tools to use - the ones from VM Ware or the open-vm-tools available through the EPEL - is there any consensus on what is better? I know that for CentOS 7 you are told to use open-vm-tools but what is the situation with CentOS 6? Thanks. Boris.

Firefox and Java on CentOS 4.1
I need to run a Java-enabled Firefox on my CentOS4.1-powered laptop and it *was* running fine. Then yesterday I up2date'd the box and Firefox went from 1.0.4 to 1.0.6. And I lost Java. I can't seem to re-install it, whether from the original (1.5.0 I think it was) or the latest downloads. This is crucially important as I need to access my Dell RAC. Can anyone advise how to get

Help with "non-integer #successes in a binomial glm"
Hi, I had a logit regression, but don't really know how to handle the "Warning message: non-integer #successes in a binomial glm! in: eval(expr, envir, enclos)" problem. I had the same logit regression without weights and it worked out without the warning, but I figured it makes more sense to add the weights. The weights sum up to one. Could anyone give me some hint? Thanks a lot!

Anyone Installed a Digium TE110P or TE120P card in Canada?
The Telco in Canada is been real painful. I was wondering if anyone has installed a Digium TE1X0P card in Canada and if their Telco was so difficult. The Telco will not provide us a service until they see a FCC or DOC number for the equipment ware are connecting to their service. If have found "FCC Part 68, ANSI/ITA-968-A, Including Amendment A1 and A2 Industry Canada CS-03"

I have RHel6. How does that turn into Centos 6?
The bickering here about Centos 6 has made me wonder what is actually legally necessary to re-distribute the RPM files that come with RHel6. I am not starting a flame ware, I hope. I'm just curious about what is minimally necessary go from RHel6 to another distribution. I suppose we could discuss "Paul Linux 6" instead of Centos, if that makes you feel more comfortable. ext3 0.0.7a OK for linux 2.2.20?
Hello, Now that kernel 2.2.20 is out with security fixes, I'd be interested in using it with ext3. The latest patch for 2.2.19, 0.0.7a, applies with some offset (both with and without kdb), and even compiles (without kdb), but I scarcely know what I am doing so haven't tried it yet. Could people in the know enlighten me on that point? I guess there is little chance for another ext3

Updating Kernel with Up2date
Hi, I have installed Centos 4.3 64bit with Kernel 2.6.9-34 using a driver disk for 3ware raid controller. I had partitioned this raid disk with Parted, and made ext3 file system on it. mounted and updated in /etc/fstab. It automatically mounts when I reboot the machine. Now when I do an up2date and update the kernel to 2.6.9-34-0.2 the system doesn't recognize the raid disk. I have
