bobby,
the speex files cannot be played by "Windows" (I assume you mean the media
player) natively. speex codec will have to be supported as a playload
type.
to do that, you have to install a Speex ACM.
take a look at
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Speex_Voice_ACM_Codec.htm
once you have it installed, just open the windows recorder from

Selective subsetting
Hi all,
Here's an interesting (for me, at least!) problem I came across:
I have a correlation matrix, let's say with 6 variables, A to F, as column
headings and the same 6 as row headings.
The matrix is filled with correlation coefficients. Therefore, the diagonal
is all 1's, and each of the two triangles formed by the diagonal has the
same 15 correlation coefficients.
I need to

Speex DSPic
Hi I was wondering if someone may help. We are currently using a DSPic to
store speex data on a Smart Card.
We have now decided to use a PC to playback the speex data. The only problem
is our data does not have the
Correct header. Do you know if there is an example in C++ that can take a
string of speex frames and construct the correct
Header so that it can be played back using a pc based

Configuring Asterisk to allow any payload type in SDP
Hello,
Is there a way to configure Asterisk so that it doesn't care about the
playload type in SDP ?
I'm trying to send custom data which has assigned a dynamic PT through RTP
so I only need Asterisk to act as a proxy/forwarder but I'm getting "488
Not acceptable here" responses and in console "No compatible codecs, not
accepting this offer"
Best regards,
Nicolae

Opus and sender and receiver sample rate drift.
Hi All.
I have an application where the sample rate of the sender and receiver can vary by a small margin and the latency needs to be maintained within bounds and can't drift significantly and the system has to be able to cope with clock mismatches up to 0.5%. For example, the sender may have a clock rate of 48.1kHz and the receiver may have a clock rate of 47.9kHz.
Unfortunately the clock

Ripping theora stream
Hi,
I'm new to this mailing list. I'm trying to save a theora stream into an OGG
file (or something else). I've the theora packets received from a VoIp
application (over RTP). I'm able to convert a single frame to a jpeg image
but I've no idea about how to write video file.
Maybe this is not the right place to answer this question but I'm loosing my
mind reading specs

Dendrogram troubles
Hi,
I am making a dendrogram with 180 terminal values. Whether I keep it
horizontal or vertical, it gives a 'squished' graph that refuses to be
stretched beyond the window size and I cannot read the labels.
(I'm using hclust and then plot to make the tree.)
Is there a way to stretch the graph in R, or by exporting it somehow, so
that I can read the 180 values and see what the results

Memory issues
Hi,
I'm using R on Windows and upgraded the computer memory to 4GB, as R was
telling me that it is out of memory (for making heatmaps).
It still says that the maximum memory is 1024Mb, even if I increase it using
memory.limit and memory.size.
Is there a way to permanently increase R's memory quota to 4GB?
Please help.
Many thanks,
-DS.

Soft SIP phones (with RING !!)
Hi folks,
well the easiest soft phone I have found (from this list) is the x-ten.
great little piece of software.
BUT, on a windows machine I need to plug in a USB device and find the
software to drive it which can actually use a normal handset (similar
to the s100p) but can be used to actually generate/answer the calls and
actually rings when a call is received.
Any ideas ??

ProPolice/SSP in 7.0
Hi there,
I'm still running 6.2 on various servers without any tweaks (GENERIC
kernel, binary updates via freebsd-update etc.) but lots of ports
(apache, postgresql, diablo-jdk etc.) and would like to use stack
smashing protection in order to harden my boxes and avoid many potential
exploits.
I've known about ProPolice/SSP for a while now (from the Gentoo world)
and am aware that

SAM FDR
Hello all,
I am doing SAM and the median of positive genes in the permutated sets is =
false positives, and the "parent set" gives true positives.
FDR = FP/TP * 100.
My FDR comes to greater than 100.
Is that possible?
Please help!
Thanks,

Pelora problem
Hi all,
I'm using Pelora (supclust) package for supervised clustering of a
microarray dataset.
The original package does not delete the genes that are present in the
earlier clusters for further cluster identification.
This leaves us with mostly redundant clusters.
I played around with the source code but couldn't get around it.
Is there a way to fix it so that the genes already identified
