"Redundant audio data" header in speex payload
Keep in mind that Speex doesn't know about RTP, networks, files or anything like that. So the byte you're seeing is either added by the client, or else it happens that Speex produces a byte that you're misinterpreting as to mean something else. A normal Speex CBR Speex stream always has the first 5 bits set to the same value (indicating the mode), so maybe the audio is stationary

SPEEX_GET_SAMPLING_RATE of encoder is wrong
Hi, No, it only happens with speex_wb_mode. But like I said, it is because in wideband mode, the function sb_encoder_init is called and this function initializes the sampling rate using speex_*de*coder_ctl instead of speex_*en*coder_ctl In narrowband mode, the sampling rate is just initialized to 8000 st->sampling_rate=8000; BTW, I saw that my email was added to an existing thread instead of

SPEEX_GET_SAMPLING_RATE of encoder is wrong
Hi, I'm using speex 1.1.4 and when I query SPEEX_GET_SAMPLING_RATE as in speex_encoder_ctl ( m_pEncoderState, SPEEX_GET_SAMPLING_RATE, &m_SampleRate ); I get 2 The encoder is initialized with m_pEncoderState = speex_encoder_init ( &speex_wb_mode ); On the decoder side, the correct sampling rate is returned: m_pDecoderState = speex_decoder_init ( &speex_wb_mode );

Re: does installed lib support _int()s ?
Hi, Right now, I'm thinking of adding a speex_lib_ctl() call that would support SPEEX_GET_VERSION (and return a string) or SPEEX_GET_MAJOR_VERSION and SPEEX_GET_MINOR_VERSION (and return ints). I'm open to other suggestions though. If there's anything you'd like to see in the API for 1.2, say it now. ...and no, I won't add a speex_do_all_the_work_for_me() call :)

Redundant frames
Hi all, I?m trying to send 2 frames per RTP packet. One frame is current frame , the other one is previous frame for redundancy. Can you give some recomendation?for beginning ? Anyone else tried Speex 1.1 CVS?
I built the CVS version of the Speex library - v1.2 it calls itself. Asterisk seg faults trying to use codec_speex.so. I'll have a look to try to fix it, but thought I'd just ask if anyone else knows what needs to be done? Steve

link problem with VC 2008
Hi, I use the pre-compiled libs of speex, version beta3. I've got this link problem when I use the fonction speex_encoder_init(&speex_wb_mode) error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _speex_wb_mode I made the link with the librairies libspeex.lib and libspeexdsp.lib in my properties' project. I used the dumpbin executable of VC to see the external variable defined in the libs,

trying to use latest but can't link now
Greetings. I just upgraded to the latest 1.2beta3 and now I get the following link error: unresolved external symbol speex_wb_mode. Using VS2005. If I put back the old libspeex.lib it compiles just fine, but I would like to upgrade to use the new AEC stuff if I can. My code looks like: enc_state = speex_encoder_init(&speex_wb_mode) ; Worked before the upgrade so did the API change?

denoise.c missing from 1.1.4 archive
Hi, I just downloaded http://www.speex.org/download/speex-1.1.4.tar.gz and tried to build it but the file denoise.c seems to be missing from the archive. Can you fix this or is it better to get everything from cvs? Another question, when will a stable version of 1.1 be released. I'm interested in the preprocess features but I would also like a stable encoder/decoder :-) Best regards, Chris

Please test upcoming release
Hi Jim, Actually, I don't see anything wrong with the internal structure having a different type than the interface, as long both types are big enough to hold the possible values (in this case 0 and 1). Though, as you pointed out, testenc needs to be fixed to use spx_int32_t instead of int. I'll change that. Jean-Marc Jim Crichton a ?crit : > st->highpass_enabled is typed

Wideband bitrate documentation
Hi, On http://www.speex.org/docs/manual/speex-manual/node11.html#SECTION001140000000000000000 the bitrate for Speex Wideband mode 9 and 10 is 9 34,400 10 42,400 On http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-avt-rtp-speex-03 the bitrate for Speex Wideband mode 9 and 10 is 9 34.2 kbit/s 10 42.2 kbit/s I believe the draft contains the right values: E.g. mode 10 Narrowband mode 7 -> 492

Echo cancellation Question?
Hi, I use speex 1.1.12 in my program, but I found a strange thing about Echo canceller. That is, I'll hear an explosion in a certain frequency inputing. And I use the echo canceller in 44100Hz sample rate, disable AGC and Denoise. Can you tell me what's wrong with me? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Please test upcoming release
Hi everyone, I'm about to release version 1.2-beta1 (which I could have called 1.1.13), which includes many, many changes. It would help if everyone could give the svn version (http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/speex/) a try and see if it works fine. I'll check my email next week when I'm back from some vacations and if nothing bad has been reported, I'll make the release. Have fun,

help system works under IE but not Firefox
I just upgraded to 2.10.1 on a WinXPSP2 machine. When I type help.start() R attempts to open a browser session at http://127.0.0.1:27594/doc/html/index.html using my default browser (Firefox 3.6) and is unable to connect. If I then open the same page using IE 8, it works just fine. How do I fix/change R so that it works with Firefox? Thanks Bill William J. Raynor, Jr. Ph.D. Technical Leader III
