libopus build environment assistance request
Folks, I am having difficulty building libopus from source and am in need of assistance. The reported error shown below appears to indicate the build requires additional command line arguments. I've tried adding "-fPIC" and "-shared" to the makefile "LDFLAGS" and "CFLAGS" environment variables without success. An exhaustive web search has not

FW: How do I emulate a harddrive instead of a flop py?
OK, seem to have answered my own question... I think. We'll see how it works out. Basically I should've been asking for some help in the dosemu forums because that's where I needed the help. I think I get it now.... mkdiskimage whatever size you need Set up dosemu to boot the precise DOS flavor you want from mounted folder also mount the image as secondary HDD fdisk, format, sys, etc

Speex on Power PC
Hallo followers, We had a look on speex codec and we found it interesting, also due to the affinity we had with our boards GNU environment. We have a Linux platform over a PowerPC (133, or 266 MHz) with 115 to 200 Drystone mips available. No FPU is available, and I am a little bit concerned by a sentence I saw in the FAQ "speex uses massively floating point". Do you think it is a too

SO_SNDBUFF & SO_RCVBUFF - Here are some practical recommendations
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Your mileage may vary, however I have found this to be a very reliable method of determining the optimal "socket options" values for SO_SNDBUFF and SO_RCVBUFF. 1. Adjust your smb.conf to reflect: socket options = SO_SNDBUFF=4096 SO_RCVBUFF=4096 TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY 2. Kill your smb/nmb processes, and restart samba. 3. From a workstation,

FIPS 140-2 certification
Hello everyone! I work for a company that uses OpenSSH to remotely support systems we've sold. Since some of our clients are US Dept. of Defense hospitals, our access to these servers needs to comply with a whole range of requirements and standards. At this point it's looking like the SSH daemon needs to be FIPS 140-2 compliant, and the only package that is certified is F-Secure.

zfs send/recv reliability
After looking through the archives I haven''t been able to assess the reliability of a backup procedure which employs zfs send and recv. Currently I''m attempting to create a script that will allow me to write a zfs stream to a tape via tar like below. # zfs send -R pool at something | tar -c > /dev/tape I''m primarily concerned with in the possibility

[LLVMdev] [Polly] Compile-time and Execution-time analysis for the SCEV canonicalization
Hello all, I have evaluated the compile-time and execution-time performance of Polly canonicalization passes. Details can be referred to http://188.40.87.11:8000/db_default/v4/nts/recent_activity. There are four runs: pollyBasic (run 45): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so pollyNoGenSCEV (run 44): clang -O3 -Xclang -load -Xclang LLVMPolly.so -mllvm -polly -mllvm -polly-codegen-scev

long character string problem
Hi All I am having 2 very long character strings (550chars) and I want to put them as expressions together with c(). The problem is that I also get these double-quotes, as seen below in 'fct'. How can I remove these double-quotes? I tried as.name() but it did not work (because of size?). These are creating trouble with subsequent programs, which I tested with strings that for some

Asterisk to switch on electric heaters remotely?
Hello I'm sure someone has already tried this: I use a couple of electric heaters to heat my office. I'd like to somehow connect them to Asterisk so that I could switch them on remotely by either calling the IVR or sending an e-mail to the Asterisk host, so that the room is warm when I get to the office :-) Any information appreciated. Thank you.

Using Mongoid with ActiveRecord
I''m trying to use mongodb and postgresql simultaneously with Rails 3.1. I believe I have everything set up correctly. What I''m interested in knowing is how to get rails to flip-flop back- and-forth between mongoid and activerecord. For example, if I want to generate an ActiveRecord model after using mongoid, rails automatically defaults to the Mongoid gem. > rails g model

Multiple backgroundrb servers?
What are people are doing when they need to deploy a new code base? You can''t just restart backgroundrb, because then you lose any long-running backgroundrb processes. But then you''d conceivably have to wait several hours for all your procs to complete before pushing out the new code base. I was originally thinking that during code deploys, we''d start up a second
