Connect Theora DirectShow encoder filter to decoder filter
Hi all,
This may sound like a weird problem, but I am trying to create a
DirectShow graph (using the Theora DirectShow filters from
http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) where I have a video source, which is
connected to the Theora encoder, which is then connected to a Theora
decoder.
The problem is that this doesn't seem to work, those filters refuse to
connect to each other.
Now obviously

Some oggdsf utilities and libraries now available on UNIX
Hi all,
(This has been cross-posted to vorbis-dev and ogg-dev, since I thought
various people on vorbis-dev may be interested in it.)
I've been working with illiminable for the past few weeks to port the
underlying, platform-neutral part of his DirectShow filters (oggdsf) to
UNIX. While DirectShow is a Windows-specific media framework,
illiminable's filters have been designed so

thanks. Unfortunately, I need to play it on both windows and Mac. So I need something that works a lower level, I was wondering then that I must work with the linux player directly. I am still having problems compiling on cygwin,

Ogg DirectShow Filters are searching for a new maintainer
Sorry for the heavy cross-posting, but this is important.
Zen Kavanaugh, who used to develop the Ogg DirectShow filters (see

and is now working at Microsoft where he is not allowed to continue
working on open source media technology. It's congratulations to Zen -

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Try this one here instead :
http://packs.matroska.org . Get the full pack, it also contains CoreFLAC
DirectShow filter. Alternatively, CoreFLAC alone should be found here
http://corecodec.org/projects/coreflac ( haven't checked for a while
though ), there should also be a DShow encoder coming with it, as well
as an ACM plugin for Video for Windows based programs like Virtualdub (

New Directshow filters release...
I just updated the directshow package (0.60.7043)...
It now includes an encoder filter for theora which accepts either YV12 or
YUY2 input. It also includes the encoders for speex and vorbis and a mux
filter... you can;
* Find a theora encoding with directshow how-to at
www.illiminable.com/ogg/enc_theora_graphedit.html
* Get the binaries from www.illiminable.com/ogg/
* Find the source in

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian.
Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP.
I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska.
The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the
illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the
codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the
codecs available. This is much preferable of course

Question from XM Radio
Hi,
> You can try the Ogg DirectShow filter to get Windows support for Speex:
if you wait a little longer, I am trying to provide speex support for the
ffmpeg project (www.ffmpeg.org).
It does encode/decode to/from avi and wav, a support for ogg has not been
done, and my question is, should it be necessary? I don't really like ogg in
first place..

Oggcodecs 0.70.0827 released!
Finally, after a year without a release, here is V0.70
http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/
If you don't know. Oggcodecs is a set of directshow filters to allow the
playback of all the xiph codecs (vorbis, theora, speex and flac) in
directshow, ie Windows Media Player and several other windows players.
Hopefully, now I can get back to a shorter release cycle through 0.7x
