speex on a DSP chip?

What is wrong with running the C code on a DSP? Sure you can improve the efficiency if you use assembly, but why do you say it is *necessary*? Regards, Steve --- >8

speex on a DSP chip?
We are bellow 30MIPS for our 16bit single MAC fixed point DSP. 8khz/8kbps I aggree with Jean-Marc that MIPS is dependent from the target DSP, but it's a very good indication when you compare same architecture DSPs. It is very difficult (impossible) to use effecient a DSP using only c. George ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andre Borrelly" <andre@myavalaunch.com> To:

This was also our experience porting the Tremor vorbis decoder to a TI dsp. The vendor toolchain is useless; someone really needs to pay cygnus to port gcc. -r ---

speex on a DSP chip?
I noticed a little while back that Andrew@teledesign.co.uk posted he was going to port the speex onto a TI DSP. Any news on this or similar developements? --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'speex-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in

In my opinion, Actually, the new instructions make it possible to do complex multiplies without the need to permute and separate the add and subtract. The really useful

Motorola A910 WiFi + GSM phone
Hi all, On the Wiki it says something about the motorola WiFi/GSM hybrid phone, the Motorola CN620. Don't know whether that one ever made it to the market or not, but I read a review on c|net about another upcoming model, the A910. The A910 is Linux-based, and offers WiFi on top of GSM, GPRS and Bluetooth. You can see the picture at

issue with 3.7.1p2
Hello, I have recently download and compiled version 3.7.1p2 of openssh, but am having authentication issues with it. I have been using 3.6.1p1 with no problems. Both versions were compiled on the same Solaris 8 host. That host uses ldap for its name service. Both were compiled using the same openssh config options: --prefix=/opt/openssh --with-pam --with-zlib=/opt/openssh/lib However, the

OSX Wine and USB Drivers
I feel like a big fat noob. I know that autodetect from device isnt supported yet (says so on the selection box, under the drives tab of winecfg) but I was curious if I could get some help. I have a couple different USB devices, a Ralink based wifi adaptor and a motorola V3 phone. There are drivers for both that I have, and work nativly on windows. On native windows, autodetect devices takes

Proximity Detection: Motorola Q + Bluetooth + Asterisk
Hi, Can anyone tell me if the Motorola Q has its Bluetooth always on like the IPhone? I want to use the Motorola Q in a Proximity Detection setup like that described on nerdvittles.com. I know the Treo 650 does not work well since the display must be on for the bluetooth to be on and this eats power. Thanks Chuck Bunn

How to get Centos to recognize a Motorola RAZR V3 as a USB device?
I have a mini-USB cable, but simply connecting a Motorola RAZR to a Linux (Centos 6) PC to download stored pictures doesn't work, at least not automatically. Any idea what I need to do to get Centos to recognize that a Motorola RAZR V3 is plugged in as a USB device? (I don't have a data plan on this phone - I'm just trying to get archived pictures off of it onto the computer.)

X100P fails to initialize
So I took a chance with an X100P knock-off on eBay. I'm running Asterisk + FreePBX on a PowerMac G3 (beige desktop) using Slackintosh 10.2 and kernel 2.6.16.16. Everything has been fine up until now. I compile the 1.2.5 Zaptel drivers without a problem, get the udev configuration in, modprobe zaptel, and finally modprobe wcfxo. At this point, I get the message: ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel

Automatic printer driver installation for NT4.0/NT2000 clients?
Dear All, I've seen the PRINTER_DRIVER.txt doc on getting the PRINTER$ share set up to automatically add printer drivers to Win95 clients. It explicitly says that the procedure described does not work for NT4.0 clients. I can't find any other documentation on setting up a PRINTER$ share suitable for NT4.0 or NT2000 clients either in the distribution (2.0.5a) or the web site. Is this

Vonage sending Motorola gear now?
I got a call from an ISP friend tonight who said he is getting calls from people who are getting signed up with Vonage. Instead of sending them ATA186s, apparently they're receiving something made by Motorola. They apparently work significantly differently than the Cisco units, and there have been some problems. Anybody know anything further? Thx. B.

H.264 and Motorola Ojo
Hi all, I've just acquired a few Motorola OJO units, and am looking at testing them out with Asterisk. Having read the Ojo spec it seems they use an 'enhanced' version of h.264, which I believe is supported to some extent under 1.4 (?). Amongst other things, it seems that the Ojo allows for custom frame rates and picture sizes, outside the standard implementation of H.264(?) Does

X100P Clone, Which one?
Hi All, Googling X100P Clone I found several information about these cards and seems that some winmodem has the same chip used from the original X100P. Here below a list winmodem which should work as X100P clone: 1057 Motorola 5608 SM56 PCI Fax Voice Modem E159 Tiger Jet Network Inc 0001 Tiger 300/320 PCI interface I bought one "Trust 56k V92 PCI Internal Modem MD-1100" which has the
