rsync 3.1.1: --ignore-missing-args / --delete-missing args problem
Those options are for handling files/dirs that are specified on the actual command line they have nothing to do with files vanishing while rsync is running. The correct solution is to simply ignore exit code 24. BTW, this is what filesystem snapshots are for. rsync 3.1.1: --ignore-missing-args / --delete-missing args problem
With this two options on a very live system you may need to take into account this bug as well I reported a while ago: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12569 Due to this I'm currently not using --ignore-missing-args / --delete-missing but rather -exclude=* -include=- and a autocreated hierachical filter rule list on stdin. PS: Yes to simply ignore code 24 would be correct.

Exit code 2 is "Protocol incompatibility". Also, sounds like what you really want is --files-from On 04/07/2017 10:01 AM, Axel Kittenberger via rsync wrote: > With this two options on a very live system you may need to take into > account this bug as well I reported a while ago: > > https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12569 > > Due to this I'm currently

about rsyncing of block devices
Hiya, I can see it's a regular subject on this list. I, like others wanted to use rsync to synchronise two block devices (as it happens one lvm volume and one nbd device served by qemu-img on a remote host from a qcow2 disk image so that I can keep the old versions) As I couldn't find any report of it being done successfully, I'm just sharing my findings as it might benefit others.

Funny issue with chroot + symlink outside chroot
Hi, The problem I found is not in what rsync, but on the error handling: How to reproduce: On server side I setup a tree and share using rsync + xinetd, of course, for security reason I use chroot option. Now I push this symlink: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 nov 10 16:28 horsroot -> /bin/ Now I try to do: ./rsync -avPH --copy-unsafe-links draco::test/ /tmp/rsyncdest/ (Of course the

RERR_PARTIAL exit status
Hello all, long first post, sorry. I've been using rsync in a backup script for several years now. The script has been stable, and the backup system as a whole pretty much error free for at least 2 years, the only hiccups being minor tweaks to accommodate changes to base utilities used (lvm, namely). In broad strokes, here is what happens for the home directory on my notebook(s). 0.

two-stage dialing
I am trying implement two-stage dialing. Scenario is following: 1. * Dials SIP agent 2. SIP agent answer the phone and provide dial tone 3. * Sends DTMF string 4. "Bridge" channel with calling party I thought that something like: exten => _2XX,2,Dial_but_not_connect_(SIP/BYEXTENSION,10) exten => _2XX,3,Wait,1 exten => _2XX,4,SendDTMF($DTMF_DIGITS) Should do it. Thank

Stop password errors from getting reported as transfer errors
On Sat, 2007-11-03 at 18:14 +0000, Wayne Davison committed: > Stop password errors from getting reported as transfer errors. IMO, setting log_got_error back to zero after the password handling is a hack. Here are two possible better approaches: 1. Decide where the real division between setup and transfer errors is (e.g., the beginning of client_run) and reset log_got_error there. 2.

Converting expression to a function
Previously, I've posted queries about this, and thanks to postings and messages in response have recently had some success, to the extent that there is now a package called nlmrt on the R-forge project https://r-forge.r-project.org/R/?group_id=395 for solving nonlinear least squares problems that include small or zero residual problems via a Marquardt method using a call that mirrors the nls()

FADV_DONTNEED support
While going through an old todo list I found that these patches had fallen by the way-side. About a year ago I initiated a discussion[1] with the Linux kernel folks regarding the lack of any useable fadvise support on the kernel side. As a result, I was observing extremely poor performance on my server after backup as executable pages were being swapped out in favor of data waiting to be flushed

ARIMA standard error
Hi, Can anyone explain how the standard error in arima() is calculated? Also, how can I extract it from the Arima object? I don't see it in there. > x <- rnorm(1000) > a <- arima(x, order = c(4, 0, 0)) > a Call: arima(x = x, order = c(4, 0, 0)) Coefficients: ar1 ar2 ar3 ar4 intercept -0.0451 0.0448 0.0139 -0.0688 0.0010 s.e.

using -v and -q together
seems the behavior of rsync has changed when dealing with output and using both -v and -q at the same time ... for example: $ mkdir test1 $ touch test1/foo $ rsync-2.6.0 -avq test1 test2 $ rm -r test2 $ rsync-2.6.8 -avq test1 test2 test1/ test1/fo $ rm -r test2 $ rsync-cvs -avq test1 test2 building file list ... test1/ test1/fo $ rm -r test2 the new output in 2.6.8 comes from the calls to

Changing predictor order in lm()
Dear community, can anyone provide a snippet of code to force the lm() to fit a model with terms in the formula in an arbitrary order? I am interested in something like: lm(y ~ A * B + C, data=data) where the interaction of A and B should be in the formula before C. My goal is to simplify my presentation of models using the anova() statement. I have found that this should be possible using

[patch] NFSv4/ZFS ACLs
This is a PoC patch for NFSv4/ZFS ACLs. The objective of the patch is that rsync --acls support NFSv4/ZFS ACLs without requiring a new command line option NFSv4 ACLs can't be represented using POSIX draft ACLs, if an NFSv4 ACL is present a separate POSIX draft ACL will not be present and there are new APIs to access NFSv4 ACLs. So we need to distinguish between NFSv4 ACLs and POSIX ACLs in

Off-topic: (Simple?) Random Sampling when n is a random variable
Hi everyone, I'm involved in a discussion with a colleague. He suggested a sample design for a finite-sized process that (to all intents and purposes) involves tossing a coin and examining the unit if the coin shows Heads. I should emphasize that we're both approaching the problem from a design-based sampling theory point of view. So I have no argument about the appropriateness of the

Interrater and intrarater variability (intraclass correlation coefficients)
Hello! I want to calculate the intra- and interrater reliability of my study. The design is very simple, 5 raters rated a diagnostic score 3 times for 19 patients. Are there methods/funtions in R? I only found packages to calculate interrater variability and intraclass correlation coefficients for matrices of n*m (n subjects, m raters) - I have n subjects, m raters and r repetitions. Can

PATCH: --write-devices to allow synchronising to a block device
Hi List, I had a need recently to efficiently synchronise between some large LUNs (boot drive disks) at two different datacentres. Solutions like drbd and $proprietary_array_vendors_software were overkill - we only needed (wanted!) to periodically synchronise these LUNs whenever major changes were generated on the source. On the other hand however, re-sending the entire disk contents each time

Time series labeling with Zoo
Hi, I'm using zoo because it can automatically label the months of a time series composed of daily observations. This works well for certain time series lengths, but not for others, e.g.: While: > library(zoo) > plot(zoo(runif(10), as.Date("2005-06-01") + 0:50)) Shows up the months and day of month, > plot(zoo(runif(10), as.Date("2005-06-01") + 0:380))
