Can u prevent a macintosh from leaving it's of trash files on the shares?
I recently installed DAVE on two of the office Macintoshes. (running 0S9.2 and OS8.6)(DAVE is mac to windows(samba) filesharing utility) I use SAMBA from the testing version of DEBIAN. The mac's leave alot of files on the shares that i find annoying. Is there a method I could use to prevent the mac from leaving it's "trash". (filname filtering perhaps)

turning off IAX registration attempts
I have, in iax.conf the register statement: register => username:password@iaxtel.com This causes registration attempts to iaxtel.com for both IAX and IAX2. Every once in a while there is a packet for port 4569 keeping the IAX2 registration alive. This is fine. But, I have a barrage of registration attempts to iaxtel on port 5036 for IAX. Every UDP packet is answered with an ICMP packet

2x analog interface (1 ISDN and 1 door phone) recomendation for Europe ?
Hi, I'd like to use Asterisk with ISDN interface and normal analog interface to door phone (or any other low cost connection type to door phone). What would be your recomendations for needed HW in Europe? Is it possible to have this in one PCI card? Are there any lower cost voip door phones? Thanks in advance, Robert.

Asterisk as a Condo door opener/intercom
Hi Everyone, Looking to replace a condo intercom system. Apparently the current one taps into the lines and dials phone numbers but needs to be changed as it's faulty. I will probably still use the same analogue dialing and back it up with a VoIP line and use the current cabling that is in place. But as for as the door opening function goes, I am not sure how to interface and how open these

Different ring when called by door entry
Hi all I have a door entry system that connects to an FXS Card. When the button is pressed it dials an extension which is actually a group of all other SIP extension. Is there anyway you can specify that the phones ring a different ring type when a call is received by that FXS card extension ? This is so I can determin the difference between a call and a door entry ring. I saw that a snom

Hi! I am new to asterisk and I'd like to know wheter the following scenario is possible: Someone press the Button on the door station. The door station dials lets say the extension 333. I take the call on 333 and talk with the person on the door. Now I'd like to activate the door opener by pressing some numbers on the analog telefon. Asterisk should now recognize that I pressed

a/b door phone
Hi! I would like to connect a door phone to my asterisk server. I decided to do that with an analog (a/b) doorphone and a sipura box. Can anyone give me a recommendation for a door phone with good voice quality? I am from Austria/Europe and I looked at products from Rocom and from Auerswald. Does anyone use one of these door phones and can me tell his/her opinion on that?! thx in advance, tom

Door Phone
Hi there, I'm new to this list, so sorry if this has already been asked before [hopefully this is the correct list too!]. I'm in the process of building my asterisk system. I've set up a CentOS machine, together with Cisco 7912 phone over SIP. I can make and receive calls from outside over my TDM400 card [2 FXO ports], everything works fine. My next project is to integrate or rebuild

Problem opening CD/DVD Drive door
Since moving from FC2 to CentOS 4.x I've been having a strange problem opening the CD/DVD drive door after burning backups. A cron job tars and gzips directories I want to back up and stores the .tar.gz file in my /misc directory. I then burn the file onto a blank CD. All goes well with the burn...the drive door opens upon completion. The problem occurs when I re-insert the CD to test

asterisk + door opener
Thers a box we can get here in Australia that has an RJ45 plug, a built in web server that has a config page and URL's to close/open one of 4 included relays. I use phpagi to hit the url and open/close doors that way. If anyone is interested, ill let you know URL's but its being sold from our local Jaycar agent. Video Door Phone
I have a customer that has a campground. Wants to see who's at the gate, remotely, via camera, and talk to that person through a "traditional squawk box" and be able to open the gate remotely from that phone. He doesn't want to have a separate camera feed, etc, he wants to do it all on one phone. Does such a way to do this exist by using Asterisk and some kind of relay

analog phone/door buzzer going through a Sipura SPA2000 ATA dials really slowly
Hello We have setup a doorbell which has an inbuilt analog phone which is connected to our Asterisk via a SPA2000 ATA. The problem we are getting is that when a caller presses the buzzer it is taking two or more minutes to finally call the reception phone. In the SPA2000 I have set dtmfmode to be inband. I notice that with the asterisk you dial a number and then it waits for a timeout

door phone
Hi, Anyone know anything about Asterisk's support for door phones? Receiving the call from the door intercom system, opening the door, etc? Any hardware recommendations? I understand that the equipment we have now is Panasonic proprietary and came with the currently deployed Panasonic TD12-32 pbx. We intend to deploy Asterisk in a 72 extensions + 16 trunks in a while, so any info will be

Door Contacts via Asterisk?
Hi all, I have had (what I consider) an odd request. The installation I'm working on now is an office on a multi-floor building. They 're looking for some kind of solution with the phone system to provide door control. We are a non-profit so of course I'm looking for something VERY inexpensive. I'm sure /someone/ has done something like this. I'd appreciate any ideas. Cassius

feature-request: trap-door
Hi, while discussing with friends how to 'hide' an ssh-entry to a system (using uncommon ports, "knocking" on a sequence of ports with telnet, etc) we saw the problem you need all that ports open on the client side as well. But maybe on the client side you are just a guest and those ports are locked for a good reason. So we had another idea: using a sequence of login-names

Door buzzer.
Hello, I have a customer who has their front door integrated to their current phone system. If someone presses the buzzer, the secretaries phone will ring, and she can talk to the person at the door. By pressing ** she can release the door. Anyone have any sort of integration like this. Are there IP devices anyone is using? They have a pizza box server as their asterisk server with

Doorbells & Door Intercoms
Hi, Does anybody know of a VoIP compatible doorbell or door intercom unit? I've contemplated buying a cheap SIP phone, ripping it apart, and putting it inside an IP66 sealed unit... It would need: - At least one speed-dial key, or some way to make every button dial the same extension number - PoE (power over ethernet), so I can power it off the central switch - cheap enough to rip apart

Door not hitting me on my way out
Sorry, folks. I wish our release developers well, and hope that they can open up their processes to allow much needed community involvment. But I've hopped to Scientific Linux and find it much more usable due to their willingness to publish updates even without the entire new release bundled, and the much timelier updates from the upstream vendor. php53 and bind97 are directly available for
