IMAP, Shared folders, symlinks and permissions
Greetings Using FC7, dovecot-1.0.3-6.fc6 and maildir I have a recurring problem with permissions. We have a (real) account on the system called "custs". Within the email account for custs there exists some 300 folders, one for each customer. This worked okay originally with mbox. Everyone had access to their own email folders and they all had access to the "custs"

Multi-Tenant Parking
Has anyone managed to get multi-parking lot call parking working correctly? I've had several attempts at it, and never seem to be able to get it to go properly - (actually, at all): I've most recently done this with 1.6.1.x, and now 1.6.2.x, with no luck in either case. What I've been "trying" is the following: features.conf [general] parkext => 100 [featuremap]

DUNDi configuration problem
Hi peeps, I've been struggling with DUNDi for a few days now and I can't seem to make call from Asterisk A to Asterisk B. Here's the situation: Machine 1: Debian with Asterisk 1.4.4 --> 192.168.1.103 Machine 2: AsteriskNOW --> 192.168.1.69 The

How do you exclude a directory that is a symlink?
Considering you cant INCLUDE a directory that is a symlink... which would be really handy right now for me to resolve a mapping of 103 -> meaningful_name for backups, instead im resorting to temporary bind mounts of 103 onto meaningful_name, and when the bind mount isnt there, the --del is emptying meaningful_name accidentally at times. I think both situations could benefit from a

RHEL6 implementation running slow
I am running Samba 3.6.15 on a RHEL6 server. The server has been joined to the campus AD. The complaint I am getting from users is that this is much slower than other, earlier versions of Samba. We have older versions running on both RHEL4 and RHEL5, but this version on RHEL6 seems to be running much slower. One thing to note is that I had first installed and had Samba 4 working. But,

Basics - help with models &controllers...
I have looked at many rails apps source code from the web and it seems there is no best practice when designing the database schema and models. For example surely it is recommended to include your foreign keys and constraints at the database level? Some people just rely on the activerecord associations, and don''t bother even placing a field for the foreign key in the tables? I

Can someone recommend a good 8x or even 4x socket 940 board that will be condusive to a good experience with Xen? This will be only for Paravirtualized guests (3.0.4). My hope is to play more with Xen''s credit scheduler and try some of the arch mixing

Howto get LDAP attributes outside the host configuration container into puppet.
Hello All, I would like to ask how to get LDAP attributes from outside of the host container. What do I mean by "host container": It''s basically a tree node in LDAP that holds (contains) host-specific attributes. This would for instance be a node identified by the following DN:

rsync --link-dest won't link even if existing file is out of date
This has been a consideration. But it pains me that a tiny change/addition to the rsync option set would save much time and space for other legit use cases. We know rsync very well, we dont know ZFS very well (licensing kept the tech out of our linux-centric operations). We've been using it but we're not experts yet. Thanks for the suggestion. /kc On Mon, Apr 06, 2015 at 12:07:05PM

cut-off time for rsync ?

rsync --link-dest and --files-from lead by a "change list" from some file system audit tool (Was: Re: cut-off time for rsync ?)
And what's performance like? I've heard lots of COW systems performance drops through the floor when there's many snapshots. /kc On Tue, Jul 14, 2015 at 08:59:25AM +0200, Paul Slootman said: >On Mon 13 Jul 2015, Andrew Gideon wrote: >> >> On the other hand, I do confess that I am sometimes miffed at the waste >> involved in a small change to a very

rsync --link-dest won't link even if existing file is out of date
Not to mention the fact that ZFS requires considerable hardware resources (CPU & memory) to perform well. It also requires you to learn a whole new terminology to wrap your head around it. It's certainly not a trivial swap to say the least... Thanks, -Clint On Mon, Apr 6, 2015 at 9:12 AM, Ken Chase <rsync-list-m829 at sizone.org> wrote: > This has been a consideration. But it

Patch for rsync --link-dest won't link even if existing file is out of date (fwd)
Folks, We faced a similar situation to that which Ken described - we recycle backup directories, for good reason. There is a patch to solve the problem. Our systems administrator provided the following description of the patches we use: ============================================================================ 1. rsync_link_dest improvement by Bryant Hansen Normally, existing files in
