Memcache session store
Maybe a newbie question - but I''ve been unable to find any references to
this issue. I have a current facebook app using rfacebook and working on
getting it migrated to facebooker. It currently uses memcache for session
store, and when I try to fire up the application utilizing facebooker, I
receive a session_id invalid message since the session key contains a dash.

Facebook cookies and cross domain sessions
Hi,
I wonder if can quiz anyone on how to solve a problem. I use our
Facebook app to take payments so we have to access our app outside of
the Facebook Canvas for a few controllers (and only minimally). We have
a system working fine and we have a token based login to ensure its the
same user on the external pages.
The problem is we want to perform an action, set some flash messages

Problem on rack_setup
I''m having problems trying to set up facebooker on a Rails 2.3.2
project using :active_record_store for cookies. The problem happens
because of this commit:
http://github.com/mmangino/facebooker/commit/308770447db06433e505aaf27db2614cee213cc2
That code is trying to add the Rack::Facebook to the dispatch chain
after ActionController::RewindableInput or

Session Errors not related to rails 2.0.2
It appears that the errors, which i said were related to rails 2.0.2
were in fact caused by the session marshaling that occurs between
rails and facebook. Because the cookie was being modified by facebook
Rails saw it as an invalid session.
Here is how I got around this problem.
1. Deleted all my cookies related to my application
2. Changed my session store to an ActiveRecord session store

Switching to ActiveRecord Session Store
I''m having a problem switching from cookie sessions (the default) to
active record sessions.
I''ve created the sessions table via the rake task, uncommented the
line
config.action_controller.session_store = :active_record_store
in my environment.rb file, cleared out my browsers cookies, restarted
the server (natch), but still the it''s using cookie_store instead of

Session Expired for Profile Publishing
Ok. I''m not having any success with publishing profile FBML.
Example code:
class WelcomeController < ApplicationController
layout "facebook"
ensure_application_is_installed_by_facebook_user
def index
@user = facebook_session.user
...
@user.profile_fbml = render_to_string( :template => ''welcome/profile'' )
end

How to get a facebook session for desktop applications (or unit tests?)
Normally, in a rails app, all one would have to do is call
set_facebook_session, or the ensure_* filters to get a valid session.
I''ve been looking through the sessions code to figure out how to get a
valid session for desktop applications (or unit tests)--basically
outside of rails controller.
As far as I can ascertain, you should just be able to do this:

Anyone having problems with asset_host not getting set up right?
Hey All,
I think I found a bug but I would be suprised since it would cause major
problems.
We setup the asset_host in init.rb with:
if File.exist?(facebook_config)
FACEBOOKER = YAML.load_file(facebook_config)[RAILS_ENV]
ENV[''FACEBOOK_API_KEY''] = FACEBOOKER[''api_key'']
ENV[''FACEBOOK_SECRET_KEY''] =

Facebooker::Session::IncorrectSignature
I think I must be missing something obvious on this one, but I can''t get past the initial "ensure_application_is_installed_by_facebook_user" in a rails app that I''m trying to put together. I''m running on edge rails with the latest Facebooker as a plugin. I''ve tried adding my settings to the environment configs and recently I tried the new yaml

gem / plugin install
Hey,
I am using Rails 2.1. I was wondering if there is a preference between using
gem or script/plugin to install facebooker. Latest revision on svn (225)
seems to be missing an "end" in lib/facebooker/models/user.rb (line 218).
Thanks,
Ram

Relative URL fix
Hi Facebookers,
I have been working on a change to facebooker to allow facebook and
non-facebook apps to exist on the same code-base. I modified the url
rewriting in facebooker a bit so that it would continue to use the
facebook relative url when needed but not prepend the facebook app
name to controller paths that didn''t have anything to do with your
facebook app.

Fan Pages and Sessions
I''m a ruby nuby trying to get through my first Facebooker
application. I have two issues I need support with.
First is that another user of the application was accessing it find
and now all of a sudden he gets:
Facebooker::Session::SessionExpired (Session key invalid or no longer
valid):
How do we go about solving that?
Second is that facebook has an api call for pages.isFan

Facebooker-talk Digest, Vol 5, Issue 12
Hi all,
I wanted to test requests from internal facebook apps, so I''ve been
mimicking FBML requests from facebook in my tests using the following:
def test_can_facebook_internal_app_login
fb_login_as :facebooker
num_of_members = Member.count
facebook_request :get, :home
assert_response :success
assert_equal num_of_members, Member.count

Session Best Practices
Hi All- I am still trying to figure out the best way to handle facebook session for my users. Here is my current flow:
in my "external accounts controller"
1) before_filter :ensure_authenticated_to_facebook, :only => [:authenticate_facebook, :edit_facebook]
2) when the user links into facebook, facebooker authenticates and redirects back to my application
3) i detect the

handling post-remove URL / uninstall of application
Hi there,
I''ve configured my post-remove URL (which has to be directly to my
site, not an apps.facebook.com URL) and now I''m trying to figure out
how to handle this. It''s poorly documented here:
http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Post-Remove_URL
It seems as though support for this is currently not yet in
Facebooker. In order to get it to work, it

session.send_notification for emails
Hey All,
I am wondering if anyone has done any work around sending emails
through the API. It looks like facebooker is using part of a
deprecated API, Notifications.send used to take an email part. They
now have a Notifications.sendEmail call which will take recipients,
subject, text part and fbml part.
Looking at the code it seems like I need to add a method to the

Using the Facebooker gem? Tell us about your Facebook app - Facebooker Sightings Series
Hello,
May I introduce myself - I''m the publisher of the new ruby API for
facebook site (for now titled rfacebook questions & answers) - and way
back I''ve published the Java Web Start F.A.Q (*1).
Anyways, if you''re using the Facebooker gem I invite you to let us
know about your Facebook app and if you''re sign-on I will follow-up

Test driving Facebooker with Rspec?
I''ve been spiking on a Facebook application so far just to learn the
Facebook(er) API, but I''d prefer to test drive.
It seems to me (with my limited knowledge) that what''s needed is some sort
of mocking framework at the network level. I''m thinking of creating a set of
YAML files similar to fixtures that represent the remote Facebook state,
then overriding

session handling for non-facebook requests
I just committed a patch from David Clements to fix session sharing
between Facebook and Non-Facebook requests. I also cleaned up some of
the code so that you won''t get exceptions raised for InvalidSignatures
on non-Facebook requests.
