Raspberry Pi Version of Samba?
A few months ago, I built a samba 4 DC on a RPi 2B v1.1 with Louis' packages. It's just like a normal Intel cpu based installation with a couple of minor exceptions. I built mine on Raspbian Lite. You'll have to add an additional user and give it sudo privileges. The network setup was like the older Debian 9 by simply adjusting /etc/network/interfaces. To add Louis' repo

Raspberry Pi Version of Samba?
I thought I'd chime in here a bit. I'm no RPi guru - but I've used them quite a lot for monitoring installs - stuff like Smokeping/Nagios/OMD/Cacti. They were cheap and seemed attractive low-power devices for client installs - back 5-6 years ago. I'm definitely using regular PC's now. Yes, the hardware is more expensive - but an Optiplex 7010 or the like off of ebay, with a

What I am aware of I didn?t mess with the bidmap config. But I don?t really understand what it is, and where I use it for. I am really new to samba. All I know is that I have something regarding this in my config. And that it has something to do with users and groups. Thanks a lot btw for all the help. Without it I would be stuck on things like this for weeks Philip > On 4 Sep 2020, at 18:57,

CentOS on ARM7 (eg Raspberry Pi)
I saw in the anouncement for the upcoming Boston, MA conference that there will be demos of CentOS on an ARM7 system. I am wondering: does this mean that there is somewhere out there a build of some version of CentOS that might run on a Raspberry Pi (which has an ARM7 processor)? -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services

nut on armhf, r-pi4b IOW
Greetings all; Does nut build on an r-pi4b? I have an r-pi4b running one of my cnc machines and the power bump performance due to the size of its psu and the fairly rapid start time of my standby generator, does not allow a full powerdown restart to take place, leaving the pi in a crashed state. I've purchased a factory refurbed cyberpower ups rated at 650 WA which I intend to figure

Raspberry Pi Version of Samba?
Everybody, In my case I used a RPi as an additional DC for a month or so while making some Samba4 AD improvements to the main DC's. My main DC's run on some nanopc Intel J1800 (cpu) based fanless (about 5" x 5" x 2") box's that by spec sheet draws a maximum of 15W to run on full load. As a DC they never run on full load. These boxes are actually designed to be run 24/7

Icecast on Raspberry Pi
Is it possible to make Icecast run, for serving no more than 16 listeners, on Raspberry Pi? I simply want to dip my toe into the Linux universe, and this would be a fine excuse for me to try RP if it's doable. Thanks. Docker container for Raspberry Pi
Hi everybody. Just wanted to mention that I've published a docker image of tinc 1.1pre15 for the raspberry pi 2/3. It was compiled from source on a raspberry 3 and published as byscontrol/tinc-rpi <https://hub.docker.com/r/byscontrol/tinc-rpi/> along witht the configuration instructions. The latest tag refers to 1.1pre15 only, but I can publish other versions as well if needed. Hope

Dear Charles, Thanks for your quick reply, but I can't install nut_2.7.2 in my raspberry. 1) I create a [nut] directory and use wget to download three files: [nut_2.7.2-1.dsc] [nut_2.7.2.orig.tar.gz] [nut_2.7.2-1.debian.tar.xz] 2)I unpack: dpkg-source -x nut_2.7.2-1.dsc 3) I use command root at pi1:/nut/nut-2.7.2# debuild -us -uc . .. Writing on an HFS+ drive on raspberry pi
I have been trying for the past few months to set up my raspberry pi to do incremental backups using time machine over Samba since AFP is being deprecated. Also since the latest release of samba (4.8.0) came out with support for time machine I decided to compile it myself and give it a go. The drive is formatted in HFS plus. The main problem that I am having is that even though I can mount the

Data stale at random intervals on Raspberry Pi Model B
Hello all. I have installed Nut on a Raspberry PI and all looks to be configured correctly, but I get stale data and communications lost at random intervals. I tried running nut-driver in gcc to see if I could find any clues there, but it ran for about 24 hours with no sign of an issue. However, when I let Nut run normally, it seems to be anywhere from 2 to 8 hours and the data goes stale and

RV: About your driver NUTDRV_ATCL_USB(8) for install
I think I may be of some help in this matter. Since I am running a bunch of Raspberry Pi's with NUT and it took a lot of hacking to make it possible. You could probably copy and paste this right into a shell script and just run it ... # Do an rpi-update FIRST to prevent USB strangeness #some depencies from repo sudo apt-get -y install m4 libtool libudev-dev automake #fixing autoconf for
