BIND9/DNS lookups stopped working after upgrading our Comcast modem/gateway
OK here's our setup, we're running pfSense as our firewall/router. We
have a dual-WAN with a Comcast Business Gateway and another local ISP.
We're running Samba 4.7.6 as the AD DC & Bind 9.9.4. Here's the issue,
we just upgraded our Comcast service to a higher speed & they replaced
the modem/gateway. Everything was working fine, before the modem swap.
Once they did

Windows 10 workstation won't register with DNS after Samba update
We recently upgraded Samba on our DC from 4.7.6-0 to 4.11.9-3.
Everything seems to be running fine over the last few weeks after the
update.
I'm now setting up a new computer & am having issues getting it to
register with DNS.
Windows shows that it has joined the domain.
I can see the system in ADUC, but no A record in DNS Manager.
I've run ipconfig /registerdns, but the event log

Compiling with SCO
Has anybody tried to to compile SAMBA using gcc under SCO unix 5? This
may just be a problem I'm having using the gcc compiler, but I'm having
problems. I would just like to know if anyone's done it, and any special
problems they may have had.

Warning message:

can't be made into an error? I realise it was there in S-PLUS, but
since it produces a warning there can't be many examples on CRAN or
Bioconductor using it, and I can't think of any situation where it
would be used deliberately.

building 1.9.18 for HPUX 10.20
I have sources for samba 1.9.18p8.
I'm trying to build the package on HPUX 10.20
I beleive it cann't seem to find the varargs macros. What linker

Compilation problem on OSF/1
PArdon the "newbie" nature of this question, but I *am* a samba newbie
I'm trying to compile samba-1.9.18p6 on a DEC Alpha running OSF/1 V3.0 (I
know it's old, but I'm stuck with it).
I've modified the Makefile as follows...

3. SIP session has been established b/w two Extension-1 and Extension-2.
Now is there any config that I can do in

Correct setup for directing already ringing calls to newly available phones
[sorry if re-post - first mail to the list and did not get confirmation for
earlier mail]
Dear all.
Not sure what's the best way to describe the scenario and having searched
all over the place without luck, I hope some of you may have the correct
answer to this scenario:
I have an incoming PRI connection to Asterisk 1.4.2.
In the office we have two SIP phones and one Zap analog

[Flac-users] directing flac -t output to a file
This may be more a question about the pseudo-DOS command line than about flac
itself, but at this point I don't really know.
How can one direct the output of flac -t to a file instead of the screen?
Often I'd like to verify a large number of flac files, and Speek's front-end
is very good for writing up the batch file for that (flac -t itself doesn't
seem to expand wildcards on

Problem with system2(), directing STDERR to a file
According to ?system2, I should be able to direct the output of STDERR to a
file by giving the filename as a character vector to the "stderr" argument.
But here is what happens.
Given a ruby script test.rb (with its executable bit set):
#!/usr/bin/env ruby
STDOUT.puts "stdout"
STDERR.puts "stderr"
And the following R code:

(Newbie query) - Directing error messages to a text file
Hi all -
I'm a first-timer on this list. Just downloaded and installed the latest
version (20041019) - works very well - very many thanks to the devs!
When I'm running an app using Wine, I get a few warnings and error
messages. I'd like to be able to redirect these to a file (for two reasons)
a) I'd rather they went to a file instead of the screen ( if I know an app

validations and directing errors
I am starting to play with validations as I want to catch errors before
SQL rejects inserts to the table which are ugly when nulls are sent to
''Not Null'' columns, etc.
If I do something in my model like...
validates_format_of :first_name,
:with => /^\w+$/,
:message => "you moron, enter a name"
I still end up

form_tag - directing to new target window
How do I use...
<%= link_to "All Facilities", :action => ''fac_log_all'' %>
if I add :target => "_new" that is just a parameter and not a
directive.
I just want reports to print into a separate window. How do I do that?
It''s not clear at all to me
