errors during samba_dnsupdate
I joined a Samba server to a Windows 2003 server. As far as I can see, replication works, but sometimes there are errors like this: ; TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure Failed nsupdate: 2 update (nsupdate): SRV _ldap._tcp.Default-First-Site- Name._sites.ForestDnsZones.domain.local server03.domain.local 389 Calling nsupdate for SRV _ldap._tcp.Default-First-Site-

samba_dnsupdate --all-names -> dns_tkey_negotiategss: TKEY is unacceptable
Hi Rowland, we ran samba_updatedns because we get the error "ERROR_DNS_UPDATE_FAILED" when joining a Samba-host to the domain. We go by the wiki https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Troubleshooting_Samba_Domain_Members#DNS_Update_failed:_ERROR_DNS_UPDATE_FAILED and we checked the dynmaic DNS update as written in the wiki: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Testing_Dynamic_DNS_Updates

pdc emulator dns record missing after transferring role
Rowland, I've encountered an issue with connecting to the samba DC's DNS service from DNS Manager tool (under Windows). It says "Active Directory service is not available". While digging into it, I've found the samba rpc worker throws an error: [pid 18398] geteuid() = 0 [pid 18398] write(3, "[2020/03/18 18:36:21.694834, 2]

pdc emulator dns record missing after transferring role
Hi Alex I've had the same DNS manager issue. I've opened a bug (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14310) and reported on the mailing list (https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2020-March/228772.html) No fix yet. New DNS-Records not aviable
@Heinz, Thanks for testing also, but what is your samba version, OS and packages samba of compiled samba. To keep info bit more complete @Christian, can you try purge the deleted DNS records. Can you also add the debug 10 log, shown below to this bugreport. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14268 I'll retest it here later on today with a few more zones. But i must finish some

New DNS-Records not aviable
Funny you should post this now. I was just cleaning up some DNS records and the following happend. I had to PTR records with an empty timestamp. I deleted them and wanted to recreate them. My reverse Zones are 0.168.192.in-addr.arpa and 2.168.192.in-addr.arpa both of the records I delted were in the "0" zone. The first i recreated with: samba-tool dns add dc1

WERR_DNS_ERROR_NAME_DOES_NOT_EXIST when samba_dnsupdate tries to add to _msdcs
I'm been stumped trying to resolve a samba error when it runs samba_dnsupdate to resync with a Windows Server 2008 DC. This is on a Debian 9 VM on which I have configured a Samba 4.5.16 / BIND 9.10.3 server joined as a DC to an existing Windows 2008 domain. It's mostly working now, but I can't get rid of one error that is preventing some additions to the _msdcs for the new Samba

New PTR records not visible
Hello Lois, thanks for looking into this. Have you looked at what the original poster shared in the bug report? https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14268 I don't have a big problem with this, just trying to help. Maybe the original poster can say more with regards of the problem he has with this. here are more of my details. Regards #####samba-debug-info.txt##############

New PTR records not visible
Yet that still does not explain why the PTR record I create for that IP does not become visible. I can create other PTR records in the same zone and they do become visible to DNS lookups. I suspect it has something to do with half-dead entries in the database that are blocking it... Thanks for looking into this, Christian On 27/02/2020 11:31, L.P.H. van Belle via samba wrote: > Ok, we might

samba dc dns issue
Hi, After joining samba DC (vm-dc4) to MS AD, I've discovered that most DNS entries were not populated. Below are the only entries in the AD for the new DC: domain.com:VM-DC4 900 A 172.26.1.84 _msdcs.domain.com:d14c4206-79e3-441f-868a-6c693415256a 900 CNAME vm-dc4.domain.com. Please, help me figure out what's going on. Here is the excerpt from log.samba:

Internal DNS, update of reverse zone fails
Dear list, one more problem. I've setup my host running a samba addc controller. Samba version is samba-4.11.6-r2. I've joined two win10 clients to my domain. One client has a static ip, the other one was configured to ask my dhcpd-daemon for an ip. Following the book from stefan kania, I modified my dhcpd.conf to execute some scripts I've found on ArchWiki to add my
