Why are ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts empty with no entries?
No, the Centos is AD-DC Ubuntu as member if i got it right. But Centos, not my cookie.. :-( And im betting -dns is not set in smb.conf server services = -dns .. Which disables the internal DNS and enable bind_DLZ. So.. From here for the Centos pieps.. Hi Rowland, This is my full /etc/named.conf: // // named.conf // // Provided by Red Hat bind package to configure the ISC BIND named(8) DNS // server as a caching only nameserver (as a localhost DNS resolver only). // // See /usr/share/doc/bind*/sample/ for example named configuration files. // options { listen-on port 53 { any; }; listen-on-v6 port 53 { ::1; }; directory

Why are ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts empty with no entries?
Hi Rowland, I tried your suggested /etc/named.conf. ForeignSecurityPrincipals and Managed Service Accounts are still empty in Active Directory Users and Computers. Is it more of an integrated LDAP issue than a DNS issue?? I also noticed that Network Manager keeps overwriting my /etc/resolv.conf. Is there a way to solve this secondary issue? Thank you. ________________________________ From:

I feel your pain re Gnome. Installing CentOS 8 on a VMware VM which uses BIOS boot mode using the graphical installer results in an installer gui which is chopped off at the right. Workaround is to select the install option, hit the tab key, and append vga=819 and hit F10, which starts the graphical installer on a larger virtual display. Or, better still, use EFI boot mode for your VM, and it

Can I configure CentOS 8.1 1911 as an Active Directory Domain Controller like a Windows Server?
Hi, Thank you for your prompt reply. The guide which you have shared looks very detailed. I have also found another guide at samba.org but not very sure whether it is good. Heads up, Hyper-V Gen 2, CentOS 8 Server with GUI install results in a black screen as updates are needed for X to properly detect and load the video. If you can ssh into the box, do a yum update and it should grab the needed updates, then reboot.
