Unraveling a FAR*
Hi all,
Just looking over fole_s_connect() in win32ole.c and I noticed this bit:
hr = CLSIDFromProgID(pBuf, &clsid);
...
hr = GetActiveObject(&clsid, 0, &pUnknown);
...
hr = pUnknown->lpVtbl->QueryInterface(
pUnknown,
&IID_IDispatch,
(void **)&pDispatch
);
Using win32-api, that would be something like:
IID_IUnknown =

win32-dir, unicode
Hi,
I''ve got a preliminary version of the pure Ruby version of win32-dir in
CVS. However, I was hoping to work out the Unicode issue. Run this:
from = "C:\\test"
to = "?????"
Dir.mkdir(from) unless File.exists?(from)
Dir.create_junction(to, from)
It works, but my explorer (and dos) window shows the name garbled. I
don''t think it''s a font

win32-shortcut problems
Hi all,
I''ve started porting the Win32::Shortcut Perl module over to Ruby. I''ve
done some initial work and committed it to CVS (look under win32utils - I
goofed and made a toplevel dir as well - it''s empty).
Anyway, everything compiles fine, but when I do "s = Shortcut.new" I get a
weird error:
test.rb:11:in `initialize'': undefined method

Microsoft RTC Client SDK with Asterisk
I'm using the the Microsoft Real-Time Communications Client API SDK
using Visual Studio 6 and . NET 2003 SE to make SIP calls. Using the
examples provided I can make unregistered SIP calls fine, however I am
having trouble registering with Asterisk.
I have to produce an XML Profile to use when registering with a
registrar. The one I use is...

getting started
I am giving serious consideration to abandoning waveOut multimedia and the wav format, for most of the audio in my C++/MFC project. However, I've never done any programming with a codec, and I still can't see how to step into Ogg Vorbis. If I convert all my wav files to ogg, there seem to be two major issues I'm facing:
1) What exactly will I replace my waveOut functions with?

Hi all,

[PATCH] use more windows API in src/share/utf8/utf8.c
src/share/utf8/utf8.c mentions that "On NT-based windows systems,
we could use WideCharToMultiByte()/MultiByteToWideChar(CP_UTF8),
but MS doesn't actually have a consistent API across win32".
flac/metaflac don't support Win98 since ver. 1.3.0, so it's
possible to use system routines to convert to/from UTF-8.
I removed all fprintf(stderr...) code from the win32 code

C++ & R: Displaying a lattice graphic using D Com
Dear list members,
When I modify the MFC sample (using the statconnector graphics device) to
show a lattice graph in the Active X control (actually the wireframe from
http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/graphcode.php?graph=40 ) the program
runs without generating any errors, but the data-driven part of the plot
does not display. The bounding box is displayed, but not the axes or data

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Unicode path handling on Windows
AFAIK Clang internals do assume utf8, and llvm::sys::path converts strings
to utf16 on windows and calls W API functions.
If somebody would like to take a look at my changes and comment on them.
Here's a brief explanation of what I did:
- Convert argv to utf8 using current system locale for win32 (this is done
as soon as possible inside ExpandArgv). This makes the driver happy since

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Unicode path handling on Windows
I spent some more time on this. My idea was to use functionality from
llvm::sys::fs like file_status instead of stat struct, but as it turns out
this is not really possible. file_status structure is not a replacement for
stat, nor are there functions inside llvm::sys::fs that can replace calls to
::stat and ::open.
The only solution I can see is to create wrappers around ::stat, ::open,
etc. and

Thread-safety issues with vbox driver ?
Hi,
I'm experiencing weird things with the vbox driver when using multiple threads.
Following is the snippet of code I experience problems with

#include <stdio.h>
#include <pthread.h>
#include <libvirt/libvirt.h>
void *create_and_destroy(void *arg)

Because of the way Windows works, the only fully correct solution is
to never touch the native charset, and keep everything in UTF-8/16
