NT style domain users on Win10 cannot connect WIFI
hi guys, I realize it's not necessarily Samba type of a question but since this community here is vast with lots of win experience I thought I'd poke - same one winstation(ver. 1903) and computer's domain users when logged in can connect WIFI no problems, only Samba domain users cannot (to the same WIFIs). Anybody? many thanks, L.

Add workstation to domain(nt style) - user to do that?
hi guys, I had a user (as I understand root should/must not be used for that) which is in "domain admins" group(ldapsam backend) which now(it worked for many years) with win10 fails, at Win10 end's: "The join operation was not successful. This could be because and existing computer account having name 'win7' was previously created using a different set of

Ldapscripts v1.0 !
Hi all, I've been working on shell scripts that allow to manage ldap accounts (users, groups, machines). They are similar to the smbldap-tools but do not need PERL to work (and so on...) and are *very* simple to configure - they may be a good alternative. The only tools you need are standard ldap client commands (ldapadd, ldapdelete, ldapmodify, ldapsearch). The scripts can be used as

Alternative to smbldap-tools
Hi There, i'm keep having problems with samba and smbldap-tools for adding machine accounts on the fly. So I'm somewhat sick of smbldap-tools and i wanted to know if someone is aware of an alternative to it. I haven't found one yet. Anyone? (except writing it myself what would be the very last alternative :) Thanks in advance Greets Patrick

devtoolset-4 ageing?
hi everyone just a quickie to devel maybe. I'm looking at some bits: devtoolset-4-elfutils-libelf-0.163-2.el7.x86_64 VS elfutils-0.166-2.el7.x86_64 isn't devtool ageing? Could this be the case with more packages? regards, L.

bash test ?
Hi guys. I cannot wrap my hear around this: -> $ unset _Val; test -z ${_Val}; echo $? 0 -> $ unset _Val; test -n ${_Val}; echo $? 0 -> $ _Val=some; test -n ${_Val}; echo $? 0 What is this!? How should two different, opposite tests give the same result Is there some bash option which affects that and if so, then what would be the purpose of such nonsense? many thanks, L.

Fedora Server - as an alternative ?
hi guys I wonder if any Centosian here have done something different than only contemplated using Fedora Server, actually worked on it in test/production envs. If here are some folks who have done it I want to ask if you deem it to be a viable option to put it on at least portion of servers stack. Anybody? Many thanks, L.
