Hi All, I started using Samba as an AD DC on el7 a few weeks ago. I have some questions for others who mights also be using Wing's rpms on el7 (http://wing-net.ddo.jp/wing). A) Is there a wiki/issues page for that repo? I could not find any.. B) is that the only repo of samba rpms available for el7/centos7? C) Is there a reason why samba46-4.6.14 is the latest available version? Are

Rowland, I found something related that you were doing. "[PATCH] samba-tool: Easily edit a users object in AD" Did you finish the script? Use 4.10 backup in 4.9.4
I'd like to share the results of a little experiment I did yesterday. On an Arch Linux box on which in December I tried, and failed, to upgrade from 4.7.4. to 4.9.4 and then had to revert back to 4.7.4, yesterday I did the upgrade to the new 4.10 release. This time, everything worked, I had no errors whatsoever. So, I then made a backup of the new installation, in 3 different ways: Online

Uidnumbers strange behaviour on DC
Dear all, I have a problem with our samba installation and really need your input since I'm running out of ideas. Short story: UidNumbers on a DC have a strange behaviour Longer Story: 1) Self compiled samba ad-dc now on V4.8.5 (recently and painlessly upgraded from 4.6.14) +bind9 +dhcp on debian stretch mostly managed through RSAT 2) 2 DC's + 3 linux (debian/ubuntu) +20ish win10 clients

possible bug in R's configure check for C++11 features
I am trying to compile R under a new setup, and frankly, I have had a lot of problems, but I think the stuff below points to a possible bug in R's (custom) configure checks for C++11/14/17, but not for C++98. This is a report about R from the R-3-6 branch, with a svn checkout from today, revision r77135. In my case the compiler name is x86_64-conda_cos6-linux-gnu-g++, not g++. I denote this

AD Controller + File Server + Unix Logins one 1 machine
Hi Sambassadors, I would like to setup one machine that acts as AD Controller, File Server, DNS, and DHCP servers. I have read the warning against having AD Controller + File Server on the same machine and those are understood. This is for a very small environment, so I'm ok with the single point of failure. That said, I have the AD Controller setup and tested (Very cool!) I've

[OT]: Asking questions on this list
Hi List, it appears that for the third or fourth time now, I''ve asked a question that nobody seems to respond to. Other questions (often things that could quite easily have been extracted by searching with Google or from api.rubyonrails.org) are answered almost momentarily. I''ve to admit I''m more than a little frustrated by this, so have to ask myself if it was my own

AD and Linux UID/GID best practices.
Dear All, I've some question. When I create new users/groups in AD DC. It seem that I still need to add UID and GID in unix attribute. Possible my setup on rfc2370. So I would like to check if there is any other way to do this without configuring UID and GID? Thank you. Regards, Chan Min Wai
