managing unix services remotely from mmc on windows
Hello List! May I humbly submit my apologies if this has been done to death already and if so, please consider this a feature request for a *searchable* mailing list archive ;) I'm loving the idea of being able to use one of my windows servers to start and stop the *nix services via the computer management console. Makes life easier for the less *nix savvy members of my team. I've

idmap_ad alloc to store uid/gid attributes in AD
It would be a handy feature to have idmap_ad implement an alloc routine to write back the uid and gid mappings to AD either as SFU attributes or RFC 2307 attributes. I figure this could allow dynamic uid and gid allocation that can be easily preserved across multiple domains in a Windows environment. Has there been any attempt to provide this feature? Ross S. W. unix-type commandline keystrokes in the windows RGUI
Hi all, I am generally quite fond of the unix commandline keystrokes (e.g. searching back in your history with [CTRL]-R, and cutting/pasting with [CTRL]-K/Y) which work in the R commandline in *nix. Does anyone know if there's any way to get similar functionality in the Windows RGUI? I know that as of now, [CTRL]-A and -E do the same as unix (beginning and end of line) and [CTRL]-Y does a

Bulk add users and rfc2307 attributes questions
Hi, I am currently testing a self compiled 4.7.0rc3 AD DC and a samba member server acting as a file server. I have them configured to use rfc2307 attributes so that the samba users can access the shares on the member server. Everything seems to be working as expected. The problem I am facing is I need to add about 150 users. Once the initial load of users is added I want to use the rsat tools

Good mp3-player with stdout-ouput for unix?
Hi, as I am sending PCM-data over the stdin to ices2, i need a good mp3-player wich runs at the console and is able to output pcm to stdout. So far i tried mpg123 and xaudio, but each had problems. mpg123 wasn't able to play some songs, particularely with varibale bitrate and xaudio played some songs and afaik most mp3pro-shit in double speed, even if it's 44.1khz. can't find how to solve "QEMU guest agent is not connected"
I am trying to make Qemu agent work with libvirt thanks to https://github.com/NixOS/nixops/pull/922 with libvirt 4.1.0. I've been trying to make it work for quite some time but I still haven't the slightest idea of what is wrong, I keep seeing "Guest agent is not responding: QEMU guest agent is not connected" as the program I use (nixops) calls the libvirt python API. lda fails in parse_angle_addr if sieve is enabled
Hi, This code path is only executed when there is a return-path header. Given the fact that this fails consistently, can you provide an example of a message successfully delivered using an older version of Dovecot; i.e., as it is stored in the mailbox? There should be a return-path header there. Alternatively, you could temporarily wrap dovecot-lda in a shell script that copies the message
