WinbinD no longer available in Samba 4.7.6
Hello, Using Samba 4.7.6 (from standard repository) on Ubuntu 18.04. After recent update, winbind failed to update, until I disabled it (it didn't start anyway). When run as # winbindd -d 9 -i it prints in the end: server role = 'active directory domain controller' not compatible with running the winbindd binary. You should start 'samba' instead, and it will control

Systemd service unit file needs to wait until a specific interface is up
Hi all, With SystemD, how can I make certain service dependent on certain network interfaces being up? For example, I have an 802.1ad bond interface I need to wait on for being up (this interface has no ip address assigned, it is used to capture networks packets with a tcpdump?s script). Every time this service fails because bond interface is not up. I have configured the service as:

Vorbis 1.0 before the end of the year?
Hi guys. IMO now it's definitely time for finalizing Vorbis and throwing it in the arena. Two reasons: - RC2 sounds wonderfully well, I'm really amazed how good it is.. and I personally think there's little room for further improvement in sound quality.. - portable music devices are starting to take off (see Waitec, Creative, Apple and many other vendors). Wouldn't be good

net_failover slave udev renaming (was Re: [RFC PATCH net-next v6 4/4] netvsc: refactor notifier/event handling code to use the bypass framework)
Sorry for replying to this ancient thread. There was some remaining issue that I don't think the initial net_failover patch got addressed cleanly, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1815268 The renaming of 'eth0' to 'ens4' fails because the udev userspace was not specifically writtten for such kernel automatic enslavement. Specifically, if it is a bond
