Hello, i installed a SAMBA 4.7.4 AD Server on Ubuntu 18.04 (BETA). SAMBA4 was compiled from source. I compiled an older version of Samba, 4.5.9, in CentOS7 using the guide, however, I am unable to start the service. Samba also does not appear in the “systemctl” list, nor does it appear in init.d after successful compilation and installation with no errors. The “smbd -b” commands reports that Samba is installed.

I went back and re-installed on a clean VM of Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 and built Samba 4.7.4 with default configuration and it works just fine to change expired passwords at login. I found out, when im creating a complete new share, access via computer management - per default there is a share permission set with full controll to "everyone". When im trying now to set ACLs it is working. But when im deleting "everyone" and set Domain Admins and/or Unix Admins and give them full controll, im no more able to set ACLs! Micha Am 28.
