Imo, this is a left over of an old bug, just remove the file Registry.po imo, i'll bet its never used. The computer looks for Registry.pol not Registry.po. > -rwxrwx--- 1 root users 958 2014-09-13 04:01 Registry.po* > -rwxrwx--- 1 3000000 users 958 2014-09-13 04:01 Registry.pol* Look at the date 2014, and i do remember something about this. Admin UID changed with upgrade to 4.8.2
In order to get help using a more up-to-date version of Samba, I've just upgraded from 4.4.16 to 4.8.2. So far, nothing new seems to be broken, but I still have to track down some issues I've been having. First off, I notice that something has changed with my BUILTIN\administrators ID. before, I had, e.g.: > ls -l

Domain Member Computer not showing in ADUC
I am running Samba 4.4.16 on Slackware64 14.2. I have a domain member Windows 7 workstation. I upgraded the hardware on this computer a couple of weeks ago. I deleted the computer from the domain, the re-joined after finishing the upgrade. This computer show in the list with 'samba-tool group listmembers "Domain Computers"', but does not show up in ADUC > Computers. I've

Are some Group Policies broken?
Louis - thanks for this response. Unbeknownst to me my mail filter was not working and I've seen your message only today. I'm still struggling with this problem and have not found any answers yet. I'm interested in trying your solution, but need a bit of clarification. You wrote: > When i remove the user folder, and reappy it again from RSAT, but now with the UID/GID set, >

Samba4 DC/AD documents created in redirected folders with bogus UID
My up-front apologies if this topic has been covered. This is my first time using this list and I don't know how to search for existing topics yet ... I installed Samba4 on Linux Slackware 64 version 14.1 about 6 months ago. I set up redirected folders for the Windows 7 Workstation users. All worked fine until recently. Now, when several of the users create documents and folders on their

Samba4 DC/AD documents created in redirected folders with bogus UID
I just noticed that my fresh install of Samba 4.2.3 has the same behaviour. I have a share (\\samba\it_share)) and some users when creating files have the UID as 3000000 and some have their correct UIDs. Share permissons are being controlled by Windows ACLs. I'm trying to figure out the user.group of my domain administrator account. getent gives me: # getent passwd Administrator HPRS\administrator:*:0:100::/home/HPRS/administrator:/bin/false If I chown a file: chown HPRS\\administrator.100 thisfile I get: # ls -l thisfile -rwxrwx---+ 1 root users 68973 2022-08-08 09:12 thisfile If I do the same for normal domain users: # chown
