4.3.11-Ubuntu fail to add DC to a AD domain
yes, I tried working with samba wiki and quad-verifying what is recommended
to be checked.
OK, I'll try to join using 18.04.
the samba_dnsupdate tool does not have the --use-samba-tool option in
ubuntu 16.04

4.3.11-Ubuntu fail to add DC to a AD domain
Rowland, thank you for answering!
I have investigated this a bit, and I think that using 18.04 for the new DC
will not be successful anyway. Reasons: the AD I have has been created back
in the days when 14.04 LTS was fresh. The provisioning scripts worked
differently. 14.04 has been upgraded to 16.04, and I think that I do not
have all of the DNSes configured properly and this might be the cause

kerberos got crazy after ubuntu upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04
I did stop it. And everything went back to life.
I wonder why it did work this way on 14.04... 37 years on the clock and
life still surprises me :)
Thanks guys, issue looks solved.
If anyone's in Warsaw/PL, beer's on me.

samba4 PDC, smbstatus provides no info
Hi! I have successfully managed to migrate my samba 3 NT domain from gentoo
to a fully operational samba 4 AD on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with roaming
profiles, MMC management and what not. Over 50 users log into that daily.
I've got a number of problems, but let's tackle them one by one.
When I try to use smbstatus to check who is using the server and what files
are being open, I'm getting:

kerberos got crazy after ubuntu upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04
Hi!
I had to upgrade my PDC from 14.04 to 16.04 Ubuntu. The samba version
stayed the same, but then some crazy miracles started to
happen. 4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.6
I cannot log in now with my Windows machines, yet I can view the files on
Linux using smbclient.
My smb.conf
[global]
workgroup = Gsomething
realm = BIURO.domain
netbios name = PDC
security = auto

kerberos got crazy after ubuntu upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04
Andrew, thanks for answering. My ubuntu shows this:
# systemctl | grep kr
krb5-admin-server.service loaded active running
Kerberos 5 Admin Server
krb5-kdc.service loaded active running
Kerberos 5 Key Distribution Center
Should I disable both?

When I removed the parameter vfs object = acl_xattr and then restart samba,
everything started to work

Hi. I'm trying nouveau and I'm having some troubles. I filled a bug[1]
a while ago about a problem I had (and I'm still experimenting), but
I found another issue that I suspect is normal. I get this in my Xorg.log:

[LLVMdev] Is boost supposed to work with llvm-g++?
Hello, I'm trying to compile a program using boost (Spirit) but I get
a llvm-g++ crash:
http://pastebin.lugmen.org.ar/4666
I'm using debian packages for both boost and LLVM:
libboost1.35-dev 1.35.0-5
llvm-gcc-4.2 2.2-1
(BTW, this compiles just fine, using a *lot* of memory, but fine, using
g++ 4.3.x)

Re: Virt-v2v conversion issue
I've tried this issue and could reproduce this issue:
1.Convert a guest with 2 disks to rhev.
