Hi all, I just compiled and installed samba 4.8.0 on my centos 6.9 server. After installation I wanted to run samba-tool dbcheck but it fails with the following message even when running samba-tool --help : [root at frtlse-srv018 samba-4.8.0]# samba-tool --help ERROR(<type 'exceptions.SyntaxError'>): uncaught exception - invalid syntax (ms_schema.py, line 280) File

samba-tool error just after samba 4.8.0 install
Could it be a python 2.6 compatibility issue ? samba-tool error just after samba 4.8.0 install
Ok, for what i understand, this is a compatibility issue with python 2.6. This seems to be in relation with Dict Comprehensions (https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0274/). So yet, samba 4.8 cannot run on any rhel 6 like distribution. Was it intended ? Christophe Borivant ----- Mail original ----- De: "samba" <samba at lists.samba.org> À: "samba" <samba at

Provisioning AD DC, MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Attributes.txt Not found
Hi, I just removed the Canonical repo's Samba and compiled the latest version by running './configure', 'make', and 'sudo make install'. Everything went fine with that process, however, I've run into a snag when attempting to provision Samba as an ADC. I'm getting the following error: ERROR(<type 'exceptions.IOError'>): uncaught exception -

samba-tool domain provision --use-rfc2307 --interactive fail
Ok tomas. For a good removal of all samba packages. 1) for x in `dpkg -l | grep samba` ; do apt-get remove --purge $x ; done 2) apt-get remove --purge winbind That should clear all packages of samba. When thats done. Try the install again. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: Thomas Massip [mailto:thomas.massip at e-tera.com] > Verzonden: woensdag 27

samba-tool dbcheck: UnicodeDecodeError' with Samba 4.9.4
I decided to give Samba 4.9.x a new try as AD DC in one of my servers. It has been running version 4.8.9. I installed version 4.9.4 and when I ran samba-tool dbcheck I still obtained the following error message: ERROR(<type 'exceptions.UnicodeDecodeError'>): uncaught exception - 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 25: ordinal not in range(128)   File

I'm trying to use the same hostname. The meta cleanup - I can't see the demoted controller in ADUC nor in Active Directory Sites and Services. Shall I try via ntdsutil? Provisioning AD DC, MS-AD_Schema_2K8_R2_Attributes.txt Not found
I ran apt-get remove --purge samba. What is the proper procedure to remove it? I've moved past this particular error by copying the files to that location but have hit a new snag, how do I completely wipe out all traces of the old packages? Hai. >DNS forwarder IP address (write 'none' to disable forwarding) >[127.0.1.1]: Means to me you installed with a DHCP ip and you didn't correct the /etc/hosts file. Second, you are running which os? And you installed samba from the distro first? You probely missed some files in removal. Check these things first please. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk

I am trying to setup swat to make it easier to manage shares. I have followed the instructions at https://github.com/rvelhote/GSoC-SWAT but I am having a few problems. When I run ./run I get the following errors: jenfab at

Can''t start xend
Hi everyone, I managed to install xen 4 on ubuntu lucid. I managed to read around what kernel configuration options are needed. The problem is that xend can''t start. If I try to run it I get errors from some python scripts. virt-viewer can''t connect to xend, also. I followed the steps in the Xen 4 wiki and the links from Boris'' blog. What should I do?
