Nero under Wine.. no writers show up
hi,
i have problems getting nero recognize my atapi cd-writer under wine..
when i start nero, there's one message that repeats all the time:
err:aspi:ASPI_GetHCforController Could not open
HKEY_DYN_DATA\WineScsi\ControllerMap\c00, error=2
i think that is the cause, why my cd-writer isn't recognized by nero, but
what can i do about that? or what does this message tell me? ;)

LDAP broken after AD DC upgrade from 4.7 to 4.8
Hi *,
I just upgraded my AD DC from 4.7.6 to 4.8.1. (Arch Linux)
After a reboot my LDAP database is almost empty, when accessed from a
LDAP browser or dsa.msc.
samba-tool dbcheck --fix fails as even LostAndFound isn't there anymore.

how to become poweruser?
If you log in you will be a Windows 2000 standard user. Some applications need
to run as poweruser. How can I configure samba to log in certain users as
powerusers?

pkg-xen team dead?
Hi folks
With the lack of responses to my restructuring the last weeks, it looks
like pkg-xen is dead.
Now, what to do? My favorite is to merge it into the kernel repository
where I have my infrastructure (archive and autobuilders for snapshots
for example) to properly work on it.

is sshpam_thread() dead code?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I wondered what part sshpam_thread() (in auth-pam.c) is playing wrt. PAM
authentication.
It seems to be never called from any other ssh code (judging from CVS
as of 27.6.2004).
I noticed this because the current openssh package in Debian unstable
(3.8.1p1) is not calling the pam_authenticate() function at all,
regardless of my configuration

Applications that need admin privileges
Hi guys, I have a working samba and openldap pdc which is actively being tested. I have a group of users that have specifics tools to use such as oracle client tools (sqlplus etc). I tried to logon as a test user and run the sqlplus but nothing happened, I tried adding this user to the local poweruser group but it produced the same result. Can this be achieved?
It works fine if this user is a

Permissions
Hi Group,
I set up samba3.0 to work as ADS-Member-Server.
I created a share called /test and chown group to gg_test to it.
Access to share works without any problems. I also can add files and
directories to this share.
When I now make ln -l, the files I added got the group-permissions "Domain
Users" and not gg_test, as I expected.
Do someone know a solution?
Thanks in advance.

propossed 3.1 changes
Hi folks
I propose the following changes for 3.1:
- Rename source to xen-3. Upstream stripped one part of the version, so
the next should be 3.2.
- pygrub as extra package.
- Rename i386 to i386-nonpae
- Rename i386-pae to i386. PAE is upstream default now and pae images
works with a 64bit hypervisor.
We should think about supporting libvirt. It provides an AFAIK stable
interface on the
