RHGS CTDB joining AD domain - AD computer objects
As you can see in my little howto: https://www.kania-online.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/ubuntu-cluster.txt you just join the cluster and not each individual host. So you will only have on computer-account in your AD. Am 09.02.18 um 11:16 schrieb David Simpson via samba: > Hi, > > We have a couple of RHEL7 gluster storage servers with samba/ctdb. Hot Tier
Hi At this point I already detached Hot Tier volume to run rebalance. Many volume settings only take effect for the new data (or rebalance), so I thought may this was the case with Hot Tier as well. Once rebalance finishes, I'll re-attache hot tier. cluster.write-freq-threshold and cluster.read-freq-threshold control number of times data is read/write before it moved to hot tier. In my case

Hi Amar, If can say something about the development of GlusterFS - is that there are 2 missing things: 1. Breakage between releases. I'm "stuck" using GlusterFS 3.8 because someone support to enable NFS-Ganesha. from the gluster command has been vanished without anything mentioned in the error message what other commands replaces it. Judging from other people's answers - the

Confusing lstat() performance
Hi, I have a gluster 3.10 volume with a dir with ~1 million small files in them, say mounted at /mnt/dir with FUSE, and I'm observing something weird: When I list and stat them all using rsync, then the lstat() calls that rsync does are incredibly fast (23 microseconds per call on average, definitely faster than a network roundtrip between my 3-machine bricks connected via Ethernet). But

Request For Opinions: what to do about the synthetic statfvs "tweak"?
Hi list, We have an ancient hack that fuse not just passes on the statvfs data it's getting from the storage, but tweaks it by setting f_bsize / f_frsize to values of its own preference. [1] The supposed advantage is that f_bsize serves as a hint to applications for the preferred io size. (And regarding f_frsize -- in Linux it's a historical workaround for certain bugs in userspace[2]

Replace faulty host
Hi Markus, It looks quite well documented, but please use?https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_gluster_storage/3.5/html/administration_guide/sect-replacing_hosts?as 3.5?is the latest version for RHGS. If the OS disks are failing, I would have tried?moving the data disks to the new machine and transferring the gluster files in /etc and /var/lib to the new node. Any reason to reuse

BUG: After stop and start wrong port is advertised
Hi, This bug is hitting me hard on two different clients. In RHGS 3.3 and on glusterfs 3.10.2 on Centos 7.4 in once case I had 59 differences in a total of 203 bricks. I wrote a quick and dirty script to check all ports against the brick file and the running process. #!/bin/bash Host=`uname -n| awk -F"." '{print $1}'` GlusterVol=`ps -eaf | grep /usr/sbin/glusterfsd|

Argument createcomputer does not work in net rpc join
Hello, We are using samba-3.0.25a and we want to join our system onto the Active Directory server in a specific location. The argument 'createcomputer' is exactly what we want and it works perfectly when we do a 'net ads join' but fails when we do a 'net rpc join'. The computer object always gets created in the 'Computers' folder. Looking at the code it appears

Hello Atin, ? ? I just read it and very happy you found the issue. We really hope this will be fixed in the next 3.10.7 version! ? ? PS: Wow nice all that c code and those "goto out" statements (not always considered clean but the best way often I think). Can remember the days I wrote kernel drivers myself in c :) ? ?
