"net time" cannot connect to Windows 10 Pro computer
Hi, I have a script that uses /usr/bin/net time -S hostmachine to sync time with a host computer. I recently upgraded the host computer from Win 7 to Win 10 x64 Pro (latest patches). I'm using samba as supplied in Ubuntu 18LTS. I've noticed that now /usr/bin/net time -S hostmachine is returning > Protocol negotiation failed: NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_RESET I've tried editing

Samba, ZFS and FreeBSD 12
FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE-p2 GENERIC amd64 samba48-4.8.7 Ever since updating from FreeBSD 11 to FreeBSD 12, I have experienced a problem with samba. While still on FreeBSD 11, I configured a Windows 10 machine to write backups of selected directories to my FreeBSD machine. That worked perfectly. No problems were detected and everything was backed up correctly. However, after updating to FreeBSD 12 a

Samba share not appearing in Windows version 1709
I am running samba 4.6.11 of a FreeBSD 11.1 machine. This machine is part of a mixed network. I just updated one of the machines to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, version 1709. Now, the samba enabled machine no longer appears in the "Network" on the MS Machine; although I can reach it by manually typing in its network address, "\\Net_Bios_Name". I got this from the

Randomly losing network share file communication
Hi, Some users are experiencing problems working with files in Windows and Samba shares within engineering applications. The sequence is as follows: A user opens a file, e.g. a drawing, inside an application. The user works fine for a while, but suddenly it cannot edit the file anymore. The only way to continue working is closing and opening the file again, like if the session had expired and a

I have an NT domain on Debian Stretch. It's been upgraded numerous times, but has been running for almost a decade. Since upgrading from 4.1.17 to 4.3.3 (huge Debian jump), then to 4.3.6, clients cannot connect to shares. Prior to upgrading, I found the changes mentioned for 4.2 regarding NT domains and applied them. Even so, I still cannot connect to network shares nor print to

You may have included this in another email however I will ask anyway, did you set DNS to your server in the Linux and Windows clients? Can you check if a Windows Server can join? Can you use DNS management to check the DNS on you samba server? On Mar 28, 2016 2:15 PM, "Dale Schroeder" <dale at briannassaladdressing.com> wrote: > No takers thus far. These are the Samba 4.2
