WINBIND idmap and tdbfiles while upgrading to 3.0.20a
Hello everybody, had anyone of you problems with winbind and tdbfiles, when upgrading from 3.0.14a to 3.0.20a? The Symptom was: After upgrading to 3.0.20a the idmapping was corrupt. Although 3.0.20a runs fine, none of the idmaping was resolved correctly. Downgrading to 3.0.14a "restored" the idmaps. tdbdump showed me the same idmappings, therefor i think winbind wasn't able

Cannot access other computers on LAN
I cannot even ping the LAN router on 192.168.1.1, but if I ssh though the tunnel to 192.168.1.3, I can ping it. Investigating with tcpdump withoug guidelines is beyond my skills I'm afraid. I used tinc in router mode because it is proposed like in most howto I found... Would just switching to switch mode makes things easier or that's not related? Le sam. 12 janv. 2019 à 05:17, Hamish

Hi Lars, Thanks for the help ** Test 1 ** On VPN_office I use 'tcpdump -npi any icmp and host 192.168.1.3' When pinging 192.168.1.1 from client 1, with no success, I see no packet passing. When pinging 192.168.1.3 from client 1, with success, I see packet passing: IP 172.16.0.3 > 192.168.1.3: ICMP echo request, id 2648, seq 23, length 64 IP 192.168.1.3 > 172.16.0.3: ICMP echo

Here's another easy rsync question (I am trying to make sense of some stuff): Let's say I have this burp file, which I set the follow uid/gid: raub@kushana-13>ls -l burp -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody4 noaccess 44800 Feb 18 13:07 burp raub@kushana-14> When I move it to katri, since it does not have those uid/gid defined, it just spits them out as the appropriate numbers (that were

samba 4.5.0 on HPUX(IA-64) make quicktest fails with error Failed to add entry for user.
Hi Team, I have build samba 4.5.0.on hpux. On running make quick test is failing with below error. I am attaching the logs with log level 10. *Workaround:- *I have implemented workaround by adding all the test users(force_user, smbget_user,user1,user2.......) from useradd command. Is it an expected behavior on hpux ? Note:- I am not sure if this issue to be send to samba-technical mail list.

3.0.21c: idmap_rid segfaults on AIX 5.3 ML4
Hi everyone, I'm trying to use idmap_rid on an AIX 5.3 ML4 machine. Samba compiled successfully using the IBM compiler (vac.C) version 6. The only programs I supplied where db and libiconv. I followed the instructions, and put nsswitch/WINBIND in /usr/lib/security, and edited /usr/lib/security/methods.cfg. When I start "winbindd -i", it coredumps with a Signal 11: (dbx) where

WERR_DS_DRA_MISSING_PARENT while Joining Samba4 DC to Samba4 Domain
I have a Samba4 Domain Controller, which we have run in production since ~2009 (early alpha). It's had a few issues over the years which we've managed to recover from. I'm trying to join a second Samba4 DC to the domain, but having trouble when I issue the join. I have run dbcheck on the existing DC, which found and fixed some errors. There are still about 60+ errors like this: #
