Samba Share slow on OpenVPN
Hi Rowland/Jon, When I am trying to upload/download the files without OpenVPN the speed is coming as around 10 MB/s. With OpenVPN it gets reduced to less than 1 MB/s. Below is my smb.conf details [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP server string = Samba Server dns proxy = no max log size = 1000 panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d netbios

Samba Share slow on OpenVPN
Almost certainly your OpenVPN connection is the problem - Samba will serve files as fast as the link permits and is comparable to say ftp. You could fiddle with OpenVPN first or you could do some real link speed testing and then use that to inform your tuning. That of course assumes that your Samba implementation is optimal. I assume that there is no performance problem on site. I would use

Custom Alloca implementation
---Adding llvm-dev list to CC--- Hi Alberto, Thanks for your prompt reply. Actually, I need this information(about total allocation size and object structure) on runtime, so that is why I was planning to encode this info and store it in the memory itself. Hi Keith, Thanks a lot for your reply. Actually I am trying to build an application in linux & C for converting a voice file(that is WAV) to a text message. This is required for one of our voice project. So just wanted to know if there is any existing application already there in linux to do that. Otherwise I have to write my own. Now to right my own "wav to text" converter I

unexpected EOF in read_timeout (was Re[2]: [Fwd: Re: meaning of "IO Error: skipping the delete...."]])
This is where it sets a sort of 60 second timeout if you don't set a timeout at all. As far as what it affects, I'm not that good with the code. I just know that my big syncs would die in almost exactly 1 minute unless I specified a timeout, and then would die at that timeout until i got it very large. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Tools@willy

Oja median
Hi Roger, As we know that The Oja median has (finite) breakdown point 2/n, i.e., is not robust in any reasonable sense, and is quite expensive to compute, so do we have some better methodology to compute multivariate median Rahul Agarwal Analyst Equities Quantitative Research UBS_ISC, Hyderabad On Net: 19 533 6363 [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Custom Alloca implementation
Hello all, In my project, I need to allocate an extra 4 Bytes in every Alloca instruction. These additional bytes will be used to store the 'allocation info'(like size and structure of the allocated object etc). Instead of adding 4 bytes to the Alloca 'size' operand at every Alloca Instruction, I was thinking to make this change at the level where Alloca gets converted to machine

OpenVPN on phones?
It's just come to my attention that newer phones from both Snom and Grandstream support OpenVPN. Is this a new trend or something? Since OpenVPN, in one swell foop, deals with both NAT issues and securing communications, I'd be very interested in hearing if other phone vendors were embracing OpenVPN as well. (Other VPN solutions are all well and good, but I really like the flexibility

openvpn
I have a workgroup server with samba operating well and have configured openvpn on it. That also seems to be working well. I also have other servers at different locations with samba/openvpn working. To access the openvpn server I use Windows and manually map a drive to a drive letter using U: as \\servername\sharename The shares work but I am mapping _through_ the samba server - that is I have

interactions between xen and openvpn
Hi all, first time that i tried to use xen. My goal is to reach in ssh all the domUs after i manage to get a connection through openvpn. Like they were real servers. I installed the openvpn server on my dom0 (ubuntu 9.04 + default package + latest debian-xen-amd64 kernel) After connecting to the openvpn server I''m able to do direct ssh just to the dom0. For reaching domU i had do it with
