Windows 7 and a Samba PDC?
Hi, I would be extremely grateful if you could cast your eye over my problem with getting Windows 7 PC back onto on a Samba domain? I have the current version from lenny-backports: 2:3.4.8~dfsg-2~bpo50+1, the client is windows 7 Ultimate. logins and profiles and nelogon scripts all seemed to work back in Feb 2010 using the instructions here: http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7 However

windows env variable for USERDOMAIN is wrong
Hi all, I just setup my Samba PDC. Mostly everything works, but I am wondering why on some clients, they have the wrong USERDOMAIN environment variable. (when you run 'set' in win xp cmd) The domain name is MEIDLING, and the user and computer are joined ok. But in set, it shows USERDOMAIN as the Server name. Which is MAIN. How do I change that? Thanks in advance. -- Greg Fischer

Polycom IP600 - Worth the extra $$
Hello, I am looking at the Polycom phones. The ip600 has a very nice screen, is that the only real advantage over the ip500 and ip300.. Is it worth the extra dollars? graphing plots of plots
I want to make a graph where each element plotted is itself a graph. I can see how to use par(fig=) and viewport to do that, but they require (i think) me to do my own scaling as they are scaled to the graphics window. any advice on which approach I should take (just bite the bullet and do my own scaling), or is there something else I should try, or any examples I should look at. many thanks

accessing current factor in tapply
G'Day, I want to access in a function called from tapply the current factor. In my example below, all I want to do is to write the current factor on each histogram. Needless to say my example does not work. I would be grateful for pointers in the right direction. Many thanks Bernie McConnell Sea Mammal Reserach Unit cc <- 1:10 ff <- rep(c("a","b"),5) pp<-

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] AArch64 Clang CLI interface proposal
I knew I'd regret leaving that option in for the MIPS port back in 99. Basically this is the only acceptable way for mcpu to exist, but should never have been added to the GCC aarch64 port at all since there's no compatibility with existing build systems to worry about. I would still like you to show this mythical piece of software that needs this compatibility. -eric On Jan 8, 2014 3:06

Unbootable machine
Hello Peter & Jeremy, I've found an ordinary desktop PC (with Phoenix Award BIOS 6.00PG) that won't boot off a USB stick created by livecd-tools-024 with syslinux (tested both versions 3.75 and 3.81). The boot process drops to the "boot:" prompt with an error message: could not find kernel image: linux The same USB stick boots fine on any other computer I could find.

SAMBA on AIX
Hi everyone, I run to some confusion here and hope someone give me a answer before I implement it. I am trying to install samba2.05 on my AIX 4.3.1, but the binary file in the web site is for AIX 4.3.2. Can I still use the binary file for my installation on AIX 4.3.1 ? Thanks ! [PATCH] ocfs2: Use the right access_* method in ctime update of xattr.

blues in c
G'Day, I'm a little confused why the c function has the followng effect on classes - is this a feature ? My workround [ class(cc) <- c("POSIXt", "POSIXct") ] seems to do the job. Many thanks Bernie McConnell "R version 1.3.1, 2001-08-31" on NT > aa <- as.POSIXct("2001-09-23") > bb <- as.POSIXct("2001-09-24") > cc

Bandwidth
Assuming I'm using a VOIP provider of some sort, what kind of bandwidth requirements / line should I expect to have in place? I currently have 8 traditional voice lines, and a FAX line that doubles as my DSL source. Ballpark, what do I need to have in place to move everything to asterisk? Dunc

Quick plot question
Is there an easy way to add an axis or just a simple line at the 0 position of a graph with positive and negative values. Specifically, I'ld like to add a zero line on a plot of residuals from a fit. I'm very new at R so if this is a dumb question feel free to let me know but I'ld still appreciate any help. Thanks Bernie -- _________________ Bernie Gardner Research Associate ECOS,

Serialized form... problems with accents
Hi, I''m working on a french website and I use the Form.serialize method to send the info through AJAX. The thing is that the accentuated letters (é,ê,à, etc.) don''t get replaced by their HTML entities and they get corrupted when retrieving the data. How could I fix that? thanks a lot, Blaise Bernie

Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE
All, I've encountered the same problem as others who have posted under the same subject. I've had R-1.8.1 installed and running since it was released. Yesterday morning when I tried to start Rgui.exe I got the subject error message. Since I live at the whim of the network administrators I can only assume it was a recent MS critical update. I tried installing R-1.9.0 but no joy. I
