Problem sysvolreset
Hi guys!
I´m experiencing a problem with samba 4 policies and acl and i don´t known
how it starded to do.
Some problems like copy Policies, edit them, etc. It seems like
permissions, but i´ve checked the list and can´t find a solution.
Here are some outputs that i hope can help to understand:
# Sysvol permissions:
drwxrwxrwx+ 3 root DOMAIN\domain admins 4096 Mar 7 12:17 sysvol

Everyone ACL problem
to fix this, try the following
remove the content in the sysvol folder (move it away)
run samba-tool with sysvol reset
copy the content back
with now setfacl copy the acl recursive to the 'domain folder' in vol back.
now on a windows open group policy editor
klik on the gp objects. if needed , it say i needs some right fix.
when this is done dont sysvol reset anymore.

Problem sysvolreset
Hi Rowland.
But, samba automaticaly do this mapping.
root at server:/usr/local/src/samba-4.4.10# id 'domain admins'
uid=3000008(DOMAIN\domain admins) gid=3000008(DOMAIN\domain admins)
groups=3000008(DOMAIN\domain admins)
Because of this options in smb.conf:
winbind enum users = yes
winbind enum groups = yes
Can i remove this mapping only for domain admin group?
Thanks

samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck and sysvolreset
On my small, one DC AD setup, where I just followed the wiki and did not
(!) make any other changes except for working on the AD through the
RSAT, I ran samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck and got the following output:

GPO ACL
Hello,
I've en error again in the samba AD world.
I use RSAT with the DOMAIN\administrator account to make some GPOs.
Sometimes it doesn't work. So I have checked GPO ACL with 'gpo aclcheck'
command, and this is the return :
got OID=1.2.840.48018.1.2.2

Samba 4.4.2 "samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset" is not working correctly
Samba 4.4.2
I was doing some maintenance work and I noticed that sysvolcheck gave
some error. I ran "samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset". Running sysvolcheck
again still gives errors. I tried with several sysvol backups and the
result is always the same. The affected policies are always "Default
Domain Policy" and "Default Domain Controllers Policy". These policies

Error in samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck
That's not a problem its just a ACL provisioning message as you can see
the result was "DAG:DAD:PAI" but expected was "O:DAG:DAD:PAR" that's
"normal" ;-) just ignore it or do a "samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset"

Different sites, different companies, not related. The working one was
also a classic upgrade but earlier on, pre 4.6.x. Just using it to
compare.

Failure permission in Sysvol and GPO
Dear,
I'm having trouble handling GPO's my DC.
Environment:
Samba 4.4.5, primary and secondary DC.
I am not allowed to edit the GPO's.
The problem occurred after I edit the Default GPO in the primary DC, and then run the rsync to synchronize between the DC's.
The following errors arise when squeegee commands:
Note: I hid the actual domain name.

incorrect gpo acl after sysvolreset (rc6)
I'm running rc6, but it's not a clean installation, it's samba3
upgraded to 4.0 in ages of beta2.
samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck dies with message about incorrect acl on
gpo, but that acl is set by sysvolreset.

Error in samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck
Hi!
I executed the command "samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck" on a DC and I got the following I pasted below. The first DC was provisioned migrating from a samba NT4 PDC with an LDAP backend using the classic upgrade procedure. I haven't detected any problem but I wanted to make sure there isn't any problem I might not be seeing yet.
