unable to see event viewer on DC
Thanks a lot for your response. Just to sum up, there are no way to get the audit logs? For me it doesn't really matter if I use event viewer or if it gets logged to a regular log file. But if there are no way to get the audit logged at all this might be a show stopper for us. The way I have implemented this is via a GPO that applies to the computer account and I want to audit password

Export authentication & authorisation logs to Windows Event Viewer
Hi, Can we export the samba audit logs (Authentication & Authorisation Logs) to Windows Event Viewer? I am trying to export the authentication & authorisation logs to a Windows Server to be shown in Windows Event Viewer. I read the link - https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Event_Logging. But couldn't follow much. Can someone throw more light on the procedure, if it is possible? --

Evenlt Logging with AD DC
Hi, I have installed the Samba AD DC Version 4.6.3 and we are trying to enable Event Logging. We have followed the procedure given in https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Event_Logging. But I am unable to get the Samba AD DC to write the events into Log. Also I am not able to figure out where the directory and files are created. We need to generate audit logs of Users and AD DC administrator

Evenlt Logging with AD DC
Hello Andrew, Thanks for your quick response. We will definitely work with 4.7 when it is released. Since AD DC with 4.6.3 is critical for us, is there any way we can write events and read, if not using Windows Event Viewer? -- Thanks & Regards, Anantha Raghava DISCLAIMER: This e-mail communication and any attachments may be privileged and confidential to eXza Technology

Authentication Auditing
Hello, I'm looking for a way to log the following attributes for all authentication activity (LDAP bind, Kerberos, SMB / CIFS, etc.). I would like to see: * Principle name (user name) * Source IP * Timestamp (including at least seconds if not milliseconds) * Authentication result (success / failure) * Reason for failure: bad password, account lockout, account expired,

eventlog functionality
Yes, after further research the solution could possibly be to create a python script to monitor the json output in log.samba and push out eventlog formatted events to 'Security' with eventlogadm. Seems a lot of work. The appliance in question also supports getting the necessary info via the netapi call "netsessionenum" I have tried that and a wireshark dump shows samba replying

Making Samba4 log data accessible in MsWindows EventLog Viewer?
I'd like to make the data in the logs from Samba4 available to view in MsWindows Eventlog Viewer. The most information I can find on this subject is this link: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Event_Logging Here's what I think I understand from that article: 1) Tell samba which event log 'names' to create (and somehow report to the Ms. EventViewer); 2) Find/develop a program

Authentication Auditing
Hello, I believe there may be a bug with accounts getting erroneously locked in v4.4.5+. I've checked at all the Internet facing services to find the source of account lockout and I've done packet captures at the DCs, but I cannot find the source of lockout. I've got several accounts locking out for seemingly no reason including some service accounts where the passwords
