Win7 SLOW printing
Greetings, We use a dedicated samba-3.3.12+cups-1.3.11 on debian lenny to serve printing (with point and print) to windows clients. We're getting complaints that some clients (win7, vista, XP) have to wait an awful long time from when they hit 'print' to when the job starts coming out of the printer. Other clients (win7, vista, XP) print right away. I can tail the cups log and

/dev/md1 => 93% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up. - what would be safe to delete in /boot ?
Hello CentOS users, in the recent time I keep getting the logwatch warnings from my 2 dedicated servers running CentOS 7.4.1708. I guess because of the numerous kernel updates (because of Spectre+Meltdown) in the near past? Could someone please suggest me, which files in my /boot partition would be safe to delete? I would like to avoid the situation of having to boot the rescue partiton etc.

Building R under Linux - library dependencies
Hello and apologies if this doesn't belong here. I'm trying to build a "portable" version of R - "portable" means that it could be easily moved to another location or machine simply by copying it. However, I encountered a problem when running it elsewhere: it seems that versions of dynamic libraries used by R are fixed and set at the build time; when that instance of R

Creation of Domain- and PDC-SID in samba
hi just a question to understand we have a NT PDC and i successfully transfered it's data to samba 3.0 because we're cautious i let the NT PDC "online" (domain=evan) and introduced samba with the same date in a new domain (domain=testevan) for testing purposes to get rid of conflicts i had to change the SID of the samba server, because my knowledge tells me: "a sid

Perl-5.8.8-10 "use overload" backport breaks performance?
Hello, There is text in the documentation of Class::DBIx as follows: There is a problem with slow performance of certain DBIx::Class operations in perl-5.8.8-10 and later on RedHat and related systems, due to a bad backport of a "use overload" related bug. The problem is in the Perl binary itself, not in DBIx::Class. If your system has this problem, you will see a warning on startup,

Backport uncertainty
I need to know of my version of Postfix supports a feature, given rh version numbers don't really tell you much I was trying to find an errata on postfix or anything to let me know the real version of it. How does one deal with this scenario? Is there a source of info to determine this info? Thanks! jlc -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Ask for backport reflink feature of the ocfs2 to the sles11
Hellow, everyone I'm from HuaWei, China. We are looking for the candidate of virtualization platform among several vendors. Learned from Oracle people, the latest version of ocfs2 has integrated reflink feature which was commited to the the linux 2.6.32 kernel. But as we know, the sles11 integrated the linux 2.6.27 kernle, so the relink feature is not avaiable on the sles11 platform. We

tftp-hpa backport to openbsd tftpd

I know, i can use tftp-hpa but first it doesn't compile on openbsd, second, i hope the backport could be include in openbsd cvs ... does someone know a tftp client or a test to really know what is good or
