3.6.23-25.el6_7 and 4.2.10 and "Domain Admins" are/not Admins?
hi all I have two different Samba versions as PDC and BDC and depending on which one is "domain master" users which are domain admins are not recognized as such. Everything seems normal with 3.6.23-25.el6_7 as "domain master" but when I configure them so 4.2.10 is the master then I login to Win7 fine but Windows tells me that the user is not an Admin and I need to supply

samba 4 member server in WIn 2008 domain, wbinfo fails
I have started tinkering with samba 4. I have a Windows 2008 active directory domain controller. It is also the main DNS server but is not the wins server. The DNS server does NOT allow DNS registration by client machines. I have a fedora core 19 linux machine with samba 4.1.13 (bundled with Fedora.) smb.conf includes security = ads realm = MYDOMAIN.COM

3.2.7 vs 3.5 locking logic/mechanism - locking denied to non-owners
hi everybody I'm hoping some experts could shed a bit more light on the subject I cannot work it out and it's potentially quite a hassle win xp sp3 client samba 3.2.7 on sles 11 samba 3.5.10 on rhel 6.1 and one app the the front end to a user, that does not write anything back to the resure this is what I think goes on: 3.5 somehow denies some sort of locking to the client if the

differences between 3.5.6-86.el6_1.4 and 3.5.11-79.fc14 and "file is in-use"
dear everybody two OSes, two Sambas, same settings, same shared conted and one Java application, that complains about "File is in-use by another process". sambas are two different versions, only other difference is SElinux, 'disabled' and on the box that causes problems is 'permissive' I would need samba not to complain, but cannot for all treasures of the world,
