Error in Second Samba Domain Controller
I do not use AD sites, however I am willing to here you out a simple guide
would help since I have not used sites before, As for the error that I had
when trying to replication it was fixed by a simple entry in hosts file on
the samba computer. I am suspecting a DNS error is occurring somewhere
because I am having LDAP (my Macs log shows that after looking for the
cached ip address it timeout,

Error in Second Samba Domain Controller
Very short reply as I have to leave the office in few minutes...
I remember have read something about issues when using OpenVPN. For now I
don't remind what were these issues.
About log in issue: do you use AD Sites? As far as I understood this is THE
way to get failover. You create a site, you attribute a network (CIDR form)
to that site and then client would try to connect on one DC in the

Reloading smb.conf and applying changes
Hello,
I'm attempting to make changes to the parameter "log level =" and
reload my changes using "smbcontrol all reload-config" but the changes
are not being invoked. I need to stop/start samba completely for my
changes to take effect. I'm specifically trying to alter debug class
levels. Is there a command I should use or must I completely stop samba

Error in Second Samba Domain Controller
So a little background, in my domain we have 2 domain controllers, the main

from Server 2003 R2 to Samba. Both domain controllers are offsite so we use
OpenVpn to connect them, dns is set to the samba domain controller then the
Windows server, this is due that the samba domain controller is up 24/7

Resetting default permissions on share
Don't know if this helps or not, but if the original permission were correct,
how about just restoring them after re-creating the directory?
I save both ATTRs and ACLs (perhaps the problem is that you're missing attr
settings?)
getfattr -dR /var/lib/samba/sysvol /var/lib/samba/share >/backupATTR.txt
getfacl -R /var/lib/samba/sysvol /var/lib/samba/share > /backupACL.txt

reload smb.conf & terminate connections
Hi.
I'm developing a command line tool (a GUI is following) for easily sharing
local directories as an unprivileged user.
After adding shares smbd reloads its config file (via SIGHUP). Under Windows
new shares appear immediately. If removing a share, samba reloads the
smb.conf but it has no effect on established connections. I can still
access the share even though it has been removed.

Reverse zones fail with secure updates
Hai James,
What is the connection's DNS suffix of the pc?
And did you setup TLS in you samba?
Look here, in the advanded tcp settings of the pc. ( or ipconfig /all )
And is it ticked "Use this connections dns suffix in dns registration"
(In dhcp option 81.)
Or use Group policy editors.

Building GC on statepoint-example
Jordon,
I just submitted a change to the docs to hopefully address your
confusion. Can you take a look and let me know if you have further
questions? Start with the revised Stack Map Format section.

p.s. I just submitted this and it'll take a few minutes to refresh. In
the meantime, you could look at the diff for 346405.
