Hello, everyone I edit the lp_load() of the samba source that this fuction may modify the smb.conf sometimes. How can I let all the samba daemons know that? I was permitted too. But you were faster. :-) Possibly it's also worth to mention here: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_management_from_windows I don't have a computer right now and it's difficult/not so comfortable to edit with a mobile. Samba 3.3.0rc1 for production server - is it safe?
Wow, thank you Miguel. By the way, maybe this information can be useful for the developers. As the RHEL4's rpmbuild problem I told you before, I changed a line in pam_winbind.c - in function `_pam_error_code_str'; old line: PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVERY_ERR new line: => PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVER_ERR because I saw this in pam_windbind.h #ifndef PAM_AUTHTOK_RECOVER_ERR #define

Samba 4 two DCs no matching UID/GID
It will transfer the ids of idmap.ldb of the schema master DC into the rfc2307. All secondary DCs will replicate this by DRS. All I'm missing is to get the max uid/gid out of idmap.ldb to know what id will be used next. It's not that important but not irrelevant. Anyone knows where to find it? Am 11. make dist: errors, and www.oasis-open.org almost stale
Hi, I am trying to create a tarball from a 4.0.3 git checkout using "make dist", but it throws errors (small sample below, detailed Copy&Paste on request), and apart from this, www.oasis-open.org seems stale on connects from xsltproc, as can be seen in the lsof sample, below as well. Briefly and cheekily asked, is that normal? Are we all omitting docs in packaging at the moment?

Problems building Samba documentation
I have been trying to build Samba 4.3.4 from source. Everything goes fine except for the documentation. When I try to build it I always get errors like the following: warning: failed to load external entity "http://www.samba.org/samba/smbdotconf/parameters.all.xml" manpages/smb.conf.5.xml:764: element include: XInclude error : could not load

Documentation/Website Snafu
As I announced earlier, I have installed an early release of SuSE 9.3 on several of my systems here. Included in that release is Docbook XSL 1.68. This version of the XSL "deprecates" use of a feature that I have been using to provide shading of examples and quotes within the documents ("deprecates" is in quotes because that is the word in the warning message produced by

Samba 4.4.3 debian wheezy backport intructions
Hi, Backported samba-4.4.3 from debian unstabel to debian wheezy today. May be of interest for others so i share the instructions and patches here. Ten packages from unstabel must be backported, I modified some to use python2.7 and removed dependencies to python2.6 and python3 (the later is not available in an recent enough version on wheezy/wheezy-backports). 1. Patch: patches for smbmount opton documentation ( smbmount.8.xml )
Hi, I use samba on Linux 2.6 and 2G over size file sharing. It seems smbmount '-o lfs' need to use with large file. but default man page doesn't say this option. I want to edit smbmount.8.xml for lfs and unicode option. I believe using mount.cifs is right way on latest Linux. But one of the implementation smb_clients tools take this lazy option. Is it right way to change of man page
