More AD DC Questions - GPO Issues
Another question related to Samba 4 as an Active Directory DC (with other Windows DCs present). I'll mention that I am using rsync to synchornize the sysvol share between the Windows-based DCs and the Linux-based DCs, so the GPO objects should be consistent across all of the DCs. When I try to do a "gpupdate" on my Windows 7 Pro/Enterprise clients, I am frequently receiving the

Samba AD DC Replication Problems
I've seen a couple of posts related to this, but nothing with definitive solutions or even hints that helped me in the right direction. I'm attempting to add Samba4 DCs to my existing AD domain. This mostly works - it replicates in information from the Windows DCs, starts the services, and appears to have all of the necessary information. Scheduled replications from the Windows DCs to

Samba4/AD Replication Issue
I have a couple of Samba4 AD DCs replicating with Windows Server 2008 DCs. This has been sort of finicky, but I've managed to get it to work (mostly) for several weeks. However, I'm now having an issue where one of my Samba4 DCs will not replicate from any of the other DCs (Windows or Samba) in the domain (Error is WERR_BAD_NET_RESP). Replication output is below. If anyone has ideas of

Just because the Administrator user is a non-root user does not preclude it from changing ACLs. It may

Samba DC, Winbind, and Administrator Account
I'm currently trying to get a Samba 4.3.4 DC added to an existing AD domain with one Server 2008 and one 2008R2 controller. I'm having an issue here that seems to be related the fact that, in the default Winbind mapping, Administrator gets UID 0. I am not currently using any POSIX extensions inside the AD LDAP, I'm just having Winbind use LDB/TDB to map the UIDs. For whatever

Failed to find DC in keytab, gpupdate fails
Hi,
you're right about kvno.
kvno dc gives me:
dc at DOMAIN.NET.PL: kvno = 1
I'm pretty sure I didn't change dc$ password nor keytab wasn't recreated (the file is from 2015).
I've checked other DCs.
It looks like two of them with CentOS 7 have kvno = 2, and one with CentOS 6 has also v 1.
DCs on CentOS 7 are pretty new, with samba version 4.7.4 from the scratch. Main DC

Failed to find DC in keytab, gpupdate fails
Hi,
Setting dc's IP on top of resolv.conf file, as you suggested, didn't help.
Perhaps there's something else I could try.
Regards,
Kris

[XCP] Import Always Fails
I''m trying to contain my frustration...but I''m wondering if *anyone* has *ever* gotten the Import functionality to work in XCP? I''ve tried several times, and keep getting the same obnoxious and useless error that is absolutely no help to anyone: Failed to Import. I have made sure that the transfer VM is installed (View -> Show Hidden Objects, transfer VM is there),

[XCP] iSCSI Install/Boot
I just ordered quite a few servers, and, without verifying ahead of time, ordered without hard drives planning to boot over iSCSI using the built-in network cards (NOT an iSCSI HBA). I''m wondering if anyone has tried (and hopefully succeeded) installing XCP to an iSCSI volume using a network card with iSCSI boot support and the software iSCSI initiator in XCP. Obviously I can order HDs

Samba 4.5.3 AD DC - issues with sysvol when setting up Group Policies
Hi All,
Trying to avoid making this into a "Me too" response :) but this is
the single largest issue I have with Samba at the moment, I've
struggled with this for literally years, both before I switched to
rfc2307 (which did help in many areas) and since switching. I am
following this thread with great interest, in the hope that I can get
my GPOs working, too.
Currently I've

Resize NPIV Block Device
I''m using Xen with SLES10 and am using NPIV to attach FC SAN disks to my
domUs. I''ve resize one of the disks on my SAN and I''m wondering if
there''s a way to force Xen to rescan/resize the block device without
shutting down the domU or unmounting the volume.
Thanks,
Nick

net ads join: Aborted
I'm having trouble getting a host to join an ADS domain/realm. I have smb.conf set correctly, with the workgroup, realm, and security = ads specified. However, when I try to join with the command: net ads join -U Administrator, I simple get the message "Aborted" and it does not join the domain. If I use the -d flag to enable debugging, I see the following toward the end of the

Easy way to replace gPXE ROM?
This may be a better question for the Xen-Devel list, but I''ll start here...
Does anyone know if there is any easy way to replace the gPXE ROM with a newer version in Xen? Also, anyone know if there are any plans to have some sort of option in the domU config file to specify a boot rom? Looks like qemu-dm has an "-option-rom" option - is there any way in Xen to make use of

Linux & NFSv4 ACLs
I have a situation where I need to share, via Samba, a filesystem mounted via NFSv4. I'm struggling with the best way to make Samba see the NFSv4 ACLs and enumerate them to provide the proper SMB/CIFS access to the files, instead of "Access Denied" errors that I currently get.
Looking at the Samba source, the only obvious NFSv4 stuff appears to be the following:
- zfsacl, available

[XCP] XCP NFS Root
So, a few days ago I asked about network/iSCSI booting XCP (dom0).
Doesn''t seem like it''s something that very many people have done, since
I didn''t get much response, so I decided to give it a shot myself. I
was able to install a couple of CentOS 5 packages that help with network
booting and get the system to boot off of NFS (can provide some more
detail on that,
