Mac OS X and ACL's
I've reverted my test box fs back to winbindd and taken sssd out of the mix. I'd love some more help on this as its now faring better in testing than sssd with the macs, however I can set the users to be looked up but I'm having issues with having the names of the groups show up. It seems to be working however its now showing the GIDs as opposed to the group names. For instance

Getting Remote Response via HTTP
I am trying to query USPS to get shipping rates in my Rails app. I am currently fighting Net:HTTP and so I thought I''d ask for some help. USPS only accepts GET requests, no POST... So, I have something along the following lines: @response_plain = Net::HTTP.get(USPS_SERVER_URL, "/ShippingAPITest.dll?API=RateV2&XML=#{data}") ''data'' is an XML string we

Unable to get default yp domain
Hi, running here samba-ldap-pdc (debian sarge, samba 3.0.14a-3sarge, cups). Domain users can delete their own print jobs. But they should also be able to delete print jobs of other domain users. But this does not work, because of access problems. net groupmap list Domain Users (S-1-5-21-2984023303-172644929-1026171850-1222) -> archi Domain Admins (S-1-5-21-2984023303-172644929-1026171850-512)

strange htb behaviour
Hello List, I use HTB in a ~80 users serving router with kernel 2.4.20. eth0 is the internet interface (half-duplex 1Mbit), eth1 the internal interface (100Mbit full duplex) cause of the fact that the router also serves as a http-proxy (squid) i thought setting up the default class on eth1 with the real upload-speed (100Mbit) would do the job, i.e. shaping normal stuff to 1Mbit except local

Behavior of acl_xattr:ignore system acls = yes on a share
Hi folks, It seems that the setting acl_xattr:ignore system acls = yes reduces Windows compatibility when defined for a share. In all attempts I have used Windows tools (except editing smb.conf) Assume there is a share, where the files and folders in the share root should at least be readable by anybody having access to the share. For the sake of simplicity the following permissions apply on

Does you filesystem support extended attributes? What does "|getfattr -n security.NTACL |filename" return?|| On 30.01.2024 16:13, Peter Milesson wrote: > Hi folks, > > It seems that the setting acl_xattr:ignore system acls = yes reduces > Windows compatibility when defined for a share. GPO Permissions _AGAIN_
Hi all, I'm afraid I'm back to my old issue of GPO permissions. I have two ADDCs providing an AD Domain (internal.stmaryscollege.co.uk (short-name 'SMC')). Servers are called 'ad-01' and 'tainan'. ad-01 is 'Version 4.0.10' and tainan is 'Version 4.1.0rc4' (the latest version in the package repos of the respective OSs (arch and gentoo)) I have

Roaming Profiles with Windows ACLs
I've set up a profiles share according to the wiki article: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Implementing_roaming_profiles Users are able to create new roaming profiles and they cannot browse each others' profiles, so all that is working. The only issue is that the group "domain admins" does not have privileges to read or delete user profiles. The acls on the profiles directory
