I have read numerous posts regarding this issue without finding a resolution. I have a fresh Samba AD DC & a Samba Member server. the member server has been setup using idmap config ad wbinfo -u & wbinfo -g both work and list the domain users & groups getent passwd & getent group both only display the local member server users and groups >From what I have read I understand

Hi, If your system is Debian use: ln -s /usr/local/samba/lib/libnss_winbind.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnss_winbind.so /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libnss_winbind.so.2 And "getent passwd" will show the domain users. However, despite browsing many forums and docs, I am still unable to get domain users list using `getent passwd` while using `ad backend`. Getent will only show accounts with a uidnumber and gidnumber. Administrator in new install does not have these. Yes, the /etc/krb5.keytab file is created when the domain-join. I just noticed that it's not only after a reboot I have this problem. I lost the domain-join on my first SMB server, it has not been restarted. Note that I use Cluster Mode (CTDB), but the problem is the same when I remove the cluster configuration.
