sysutils/fusefs-ntfs working for anyone?
Hi there, I've been trying to mount my NTFS partitions with the NTFS-3g project's FUSE implementation but am unable to mount anything. I'm on 6-STABLE and have the latest versions of FUSE installed: fusefs-kmod-0.3.0_4 Kernel module for fuse fusefs-libs-2.6.2 FUSE allows filesystem implementation in userspace fusefs-ntfs-0.20070207RC1 Mount NTFS partitions and disk images I use

Migrate DC from Small Business Server 2011 to Samba 4
Hi, I want to migrate a Windows Small Business Server 2011 domain controller to Samba 4. The SBS2011 has about 40 users and 100 client computers. Also about 50 GPOs are in use. Furthermore there is Exchange running on the SBS and it has to stay there for the next couple of month (it will be replaced by a new mail system later). So far I think I can either try to migrate or start from

Ports and WITH_LIBCPLUSPLUS
Hello, I wanted to try the new c++ stuff, ie clang-3.2, libc++ and libcxxrt, so I used poudriere to build a jail setup for that ( WITH_LIBCPLUSPLUS=yes in src.conf, CXXFLAGS+=-stdlib=libc++ and libsupc++.so.1 libcxxrt.so.1 in libmap.conf ), and started to build my normal set of packages ( see desktop.list ). Please note that I also have WITH_NEW_XORG=yes and WITH_KMS=yes, as well as using the

GlusterFS on a FreeBSD-Server
Hello I want to use GlusterFS as a nfs substitute for a FreeBSD Server and Linux clients. The FreeBSD-server should export several directories. One of these directories contains the home-directory for the client-mashines. The problem is that my GlusterFS setup isn't very stable and crashes quite often. It is less stable, when more than one volume is mounted, but even when only one volume is

PB upgrade to samba 2.0
After I have upgraded from previous version to 2.0, I don't manage to authenticate from clients (winnt4) to DigitalUnix3.2c with Samba anymore. Before the upgrade it worked fine. After the upgrade, my password is rejected. It's really a authentication problem because it works fine if I add "guest ok = yes". On the server I have: security = share On the client:

ext2 inode size patch - RE: PR kern/124621
A while back, I submitted a patch for PR kern/124621, which allows the mounting of an ext2(3) filesystem created with an inode size other than 128. The e2fsprogs' default is now 256, so file systems created on newer Linux distributions or with the port will not be mountable. I was hopeful this would get committed in time for 7.1-RELEASE (and 6.4-RELEASE), however the PR remains open. If

Upcoming ABI Breakage in RELENG_7
Normally the FreeBSD Project tries very hard to avoid ABI breakage in "Stable Branches". However occasionally the fix for a bug can not be implemented without ABI breakage, and it is decided that the fix warrants the impact of the ABI breakage. We have one of those situations coming along for RELENG_7 (what will become FreeBSD 7.1). The ABI breakage should only impact kernel modules

Deleting observations from baseline that don't appear in follow up
Hello all, I'm almost embarrassed to post this , it seems so easy. Suppose I have a baseline and follow up survey but some people are missing in the follow up: > baseline<-data.frame(id=c(3,5,7,9,12), data= runif(5)) > follow.up<-data.frame(id=c(3,7,9,12), data= runif(4)) > baseline id data 1 3 0.66771988 2 5 0.28794744 3 7 0.01892821 4 9 0.64863175 5 12 0.86485882

Samba 3.0, fuse-hdfs and write problems
Hi folks, I research at the moment a connection over fuse and samba for hadoop-cluster. Its my private playground, but I have some issues I can't figure out why they happen. I use RHEL5.7, packetlist: rpm -qa|grep samba samba-3.0.33-3.29.el5_7.4.x86_64 samba-common-3.0.33-3.29.el5_7.4.x86_64 2 servers, one provides samba-shares and one I use as client. Samba access of FAT32 mounted file system on FreeBSD
Hi, Firstly background - FreeNAS 0.7.2 (FreeBSD 7.3-RELEASE-p1) Samba 3.5.3 1TB disk, 500GB FAT32 (/dev/da1s1) + 500GB NTFS (/dev/da1s4) Just to clear it up, I'm using FAT32 and NTFS because this is actually a media center box that functions as an external HDD when plugged into USB. I'm using it as a storage device because its quite large a disk, but may from time to time use it as a

cant save to smb from apps?
I set up a samba share on a fedora core 5 box. I am able to drag and drop files to it, but when I try to save from an app, I get a message saying disk is full. These are all XP home clients. When I tried to share from an XP pro client it worked. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks, Josh.

Open Office 1.9.x
Having used Open Office 1.9.x on the XP side of my box, I decided to install it on the CentOS side. (The default OO was 1.1.2, for heaven's sake!) I downloaded the Linux 386 version from the OO site. I immediately ran into problems-- 1) The installation instructions were for OO 1.x. 2) The download appears to be source RPMs. Although I've used UNIX & Linux for over 15 years,

Wine --managed
I'm running wine, and quite oftem, I use good ol' PROGMAN.EXE as an access point to my win-apps. I launch Progman with the --managed option, but any applications I run from within Progman, are not run with this option. This is also a problem with program such as Aol Instant Messenger, when it creates its own sub windows and what not. Is there any place where I can configure how wine apps

Tabulating Baseline Characteristics on specific observations
I have a data set with many missing observations. When I run a regression, R of course discards the observations (the whole row) that have "NA". I want to tabulate some baseline characteristics (column means) but only for the observations that R used for the regression. I tried to recreate this data frame by using na.omit on the original data frame, but this will not work as this will

In a general re-configuration of my box, I deleted and re-installed CentOS. OK, I need the gpg key. When, as suggested, I run rpm --import public.gpg.key I get: error: public.gpg.key: import read failed. So what do I do now? -mj-

calling a variable which in turn calls many more variables
Hi all, I am running regressions with many covariates, most of which remain the same each time (control variables). Instead of writing 30 demographic variables every regression, is there a way I could call them all at once using a variable called, perhaps "demog"? I have tried: > demog <- list(age1, age2, age3) but I get an error when I try to call a list in a regression. I also

xenconsole: How to get out?
Hi, XEN has a console that works in text mode ("xm console", e.g. via SSH). However with a German keyboard I''m having trouble to get out of the console again. Usually I login to Dom0 from another terminal, and then kill the xenconsole process. However I''d wish there was an easier way to get out. Maybe add a configurable escape key like for SSH? Freebsd: Fatal error - Support not compiled in for passdb driver 'sql'
OK, will do. Feels like a big hammer for a small nut - has there been any discussion about having loadable modules? Thanks for the quick reply!
