After I have upgraded from previous version to 2.0, I don't manage to authenticate from clients (winnt4) to DigitalUnix3.2c with Samba anymore. Before the upgrade it worked fine. After the upgrade, my password is rejected. It's really a authentication problem because it works fine if I add "guest ok = yes". On the server I have: security = share On the client: EnablePlainTextPassword = 1 What's the matter ??? _________________________________________________________ ÊTES-VOUS YAHOO!? Samba 2 does the same thing. You must disable plaintext password on the client Roy
But I have "Encrypt passwords = no" in smb.conf. Is this option without effect in 2.0 ? Another problem: I don't manage to connect with swat: it asks me for a username and password. Neither root nor the guest account work!... Thank you for your help. J-Noël. Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk <roy@karlsbakk.net> a écrit:> > > > On Tue, 9 Feb 1999, =?ISO-8859-1?Q?
