Everything to know is described on the new "Domain Member" page.

Wiki: Standalone server
Hai Marc,
First best wishes and happy new year.
This one looks great, but your missing one thing imo.
You can do the same without a local user when you change
map to guest = Bad User
to
map to guest = Bad Password
Which gives also the advantage, that you dont need to have a local user on a windows system, which popups up with a password and where lots of peoople have

Wiki: Standalone server
Happy new year!
I know, I was lazy during the last weeks. However I published at least
one new guide last night:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Standalone_server
I think most of the docs linked on
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/User_Documentation are meanwhile
rewritten and a good basis for most of the users. Next I will finally
focus on the results of my Samba user survey from last year

New/changed Wiki documentation
Hello,
during the last weeks I began to (re)-write and test some Wiki HowTos,
but had no time to finish them yet. Now it's done. Here they are:
Complete re-writes (please proofread):
* https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_AD_Member_Server
I also replaced some outdated pages about the same topic from
the Wiki with a forwarder to this HowTo.

State of CentOS Wiki and other CentOS documentation sources
Note: Re-sending this email, since it looks like it didn't arrive to the ML
the first time. I apologize if the message is duplicated.
The CentOS Wiki is being referenced as the main documentation source
from the CentOS homepage, being in the Documentation menu on
https://www.centos.org/ along with https://docs.centos.org/ and
https://www.centos.org/keys/. Neither of these are most relevent to

Replacing the Wiki user documentation page
Hello,
what do you think about replacing the user documentation page
(https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba) with
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/HowTo_Guide?
The HowTo Guide is a table of content, we worked out in a past
documentation team meeting. Everything from the current user
documentation page is already link there and even more.
I know that currently there are many red (not

Efficient marginal sums?
Hi Folks,
[This is not unrelated to the current "vector of vectors" thread,
but arises quite independently]
Say I have a function f(x,y) which computes a value for scalar
x and y; or, if either x=X or y=Y is a vector, a corresponding
vector of values f(X,y) or f(x,Y) (with the usual built-in
vectorisation of operations).
Now I have X=(x.1,x.2,...,x.m) and Y=(y.1,y.2,...,y.n).

RFC: Reference Documentation
Hi all,
I''ve been thinking about this for a while, and I think I''ve finally
come up with the "right" way to do this.
There''s a lot of data in Puppet that''d be useful as documentation but
is not currently exposed all that well, especially on the command-
line. Just a few examples:
- Which providers for which types are functional on the current

Constrained cubic smoothing spline
Hello everone,
Anyone who knows how to force a cubic smoothing spline to pass through a particular point?
I found on website someone said that we can use "cobs package" to force the spline pass through certain points or impose shape constraints (increasing, decreasing). However, this package is using B-spline and can only do linear and quadratic

Latentnet Data Import
Hello everone,
I am a computer science researcher in the UK - and have a quick question regarding importing data into R and more specifically latentnet.
I am trying to import data such as a text file containing: (This is based on the Sampson data set)

Network attributes:
vertices = 3
directed = TRUE
hyper = FALSE
loops = FALSE
multiple = FALSE

Cisco 7960 XML/Configs
I ordered 10 7960's with SIP today (YAY!), I should have them on Monday!
So, to be better prepared come Monday morning, I was wondering if anyone
knew of any * compatible screen configs for things such as browsing VM,
etc, yadda, yadda. I checked out the wiki about ADSI but from what I
see, that's not really applicable in a SIP setup? I'm guessing it's
going to be a more XML

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Moving to Sphinx for LLVM and friends documentation (with partial implementation (in both 10pt and 12pt font)).
Hi Michael,
Awesome work!
I'm a strong supporter of using Sphinx. I've been using it for the LNT
docs (http://llvm.org/docs/lnt/) and it is quite nice to work with. +1
for migrating over.

Visual Studio build of Opus-1.0.1-rc
Hi everone,
I currently try to test the Opus codec. It seems, however, that it is
more easy to do that in Linux.
Nevertheless, I have compiled the sources in Visual Studio 2010. Here
are some hints:
1) "static inline int function(...)" (combination of static and inline)
does not work with Visual Studio 2010. I defined a macro which
translates all "inline" to nothing.
2) I

Samba4 Integration With Google
Hello everone,
In my Company we are going through a network redesign and Planning to
retire our Novel edirectory, and Novel Servers and replace them with Samba4
(Over 150 Servers). We have setup a Samba4 test environment which seems to
be working well so far. We are an organization with multiple locations and
over 1200 users, we are also very heavy users of google apps. I have couple
